I have spotted some cheapo wheels for the FC
they are : 5 stud , pcd 114.3 and et45 ( the offset is actually 38-45 )
now it looks like the centre bore is 64 ( but waiting for the exact figures )
now doing some reading ( http://home.btconnect.com/maps-ltd/maps/id36.html ) it looks like the rx7 is only a 59.5
would the above fit on an FC or does it having a large centre bore a bit dangerous ??
Ta
Stu
And a SUPER quick answer would be superb as he wont hold them forever :(
As far as I understand it, the centre bore size doesn\'t matter much from a safety point of view, just whether or not the wheel will fit over the hub nut. Yours is 5mm bigger than standard so there is no problem there at all.
Mark.
As the centre bore is bigger than you need its not a problem not get cheap plastic spacers that make up the difference. Any ware that sells wheels will be able to get you these.

cheers chaps - just have to keep my fingers crossed now
although every time this happens - something always goes wrong and i miss out :(
what are the dimensions of the wheels Stu?
they are
114.3 PCD
et 45
and a bore of 70 stock ( with the ring down to 64 )
so they MIGHT fit - just looking at the wheels now - and it looks like they are all the same side wheels ( they are slightly shaped - and it looks like they will look different frmo passenger side to drivers side ?? )
not sure if you would notice or not - but this is why they might be cheap - 4 left handed wheels !!
wow wheels off a 4 axle RX7 eh? lol
What size are they? I\'ve got aftermarket FD wheels on mine they fit fine with spacers on the fronts
size - 225 back , 205 fronts
so they should fit - its just that they LOOK like they are all the same side fitment
i have emailed the guy to see what he says
if they are cheap though - would someone actually notice ??
same size pretty much as the stock wheels then? I have 225 on the rear of my stock wheels and 205 at the front, the white 17s have 255 & 225 respectively but they are 17x8 & 17x9 wheras the socks are 16x7 all round. Not sure on the same side thing, how can u tell from pics, surely the only thing that dictates the side that the wheel will fit is the directional tyre?
the spokes on the wheel have a slight curve to them , and on every wheel it points the same way
get a piece of paper
draw a circle , then put 4-5 curve spokes on ( not a straight line )
now then imagine this on each side of the car - the curves go in different directions :D
its very stange - taken me about 6 hrs to get my head around it - i think thats why they are cheap !! LOL
Are they all the same wheel width ??? you should be able to swap the tyres around on the rims to get them all going in the right direction !
Shaun
yeah you should - its more the wheel direction thats interesting
just bringing this back to life
the rx has a bore of 59.6 , just seen some wheels with a bore of 67.1 - now that thats huge , but what we are saying that it wont make a defference ??
HUmmmm coooooooooooool :D
a new link for offsets and such like - seems very detailed :

So long as the pcd is the same for the studs just bang a nylon spacer in there and your sorted. You would probably get away without a spacer and rely on the studs holding it all square but for the sake of a couple of quid you may as well do the job right.
Kevin
If you find that you get wheel wobble after a certain speed with them all you need to do is get some spacer machined to suit the two diameters to take up the slack.
