Title: Rear bulbs
Post by: J4P RX on September 14, 2003, 04:28:05 PM
Feeling rather silly, but how do you change them.  Took the top cover off and still didnt seem to be able to get to the bulbs.

Im guessing the light cluster must come off with a clip or similar.  I didnt want to risk breaking it though.

Cheers

looks like there is one screw to remove at the top and then the lens comes off (from the owners manual on //www.iluvmyrx7.com)

Undo the screws across the top. The whole unit then \'slides\' (you have to give it a GOOD shove) out of the bumper toward the outside of the car, if u see what I mean...leaving the whole light unit handing from the light wiring.

The 3 bulb holders are then just bayonets.

Refitting - just line the 3 (from recollection) slots in the light unit up and give it a gentle shove back toward the middle brake light.

Will try again later.

Yeah, I thought the same when I first took a set off. You have to give them a fair amount of abuse! Latex gloves help with grip ;-)

If you really have to give em some then be careful not to rip the wires out when it finally \'lets go\' !
