Rite lads dont know what to do...
Here is my problem.. Got the new car just b4 xmas and she came with an FCon V pro ecu and evc III boost controller... Rang Gt Art to c if they\'ll map it and quoted me over 1k sterling!!!! Thats mad money just to get it mapped!! Plus cost of the boat 600 yoyos and petrol which wud be alot too!!! Plus the fact that if i needed the map changed at all id have to go back accross the pond which wud cost more €€€... TTM in Galway are registered fcon mappers but plain and simple i dont trust them.... So their not an option...
Thing about the power fc is ive heard loads of stories that they can only handle 550bhp and after that there not accurate coz the processor is not fast enuf... But i seen in jtuner that re:work were running a power fc with well over 600 bhp?!?!?! So how is that workin?? Also seen a few Gtr\'s in japan with 800ps etc and there running power fc\'s!!!
Dont know what to do really... I would like to run the power fc coz there easy to map and the software is easy to get hold of and the lad i go to that mapped my old 7 wud be able to change it if needed... but if i cant get the maximum bhp i want thats no use really...
Head is melted.. And even more so coz the car is just sitten up and i cant drive it!!!
Any info greatly appreciated lads...
Cheers
Andy
nice looking car but i m sure Power FC can handle more than 500bhp ..
what mods have you got on your car?
DROOL :2eek :eek
That is f-in sexy.
Hope you get it sorted so you can use it soon.
F Con Pros are meant to be really good.
By the time youve bought a Power FC and had it all done you might as well have just payed to get it mapped in the first place, rather than changeto the PFC unless you can sell on the F Con for good money.
Id also be tempted to say take it to a rotary place, but I dont know if any of them can mpa F Con Pros.
If I remember rightly the car you have was advertised has having 500 rwhp at 1.2 bar of boost already by someone on this forum. Are you not happy with the performance or is it just a case of you loads more power ? if so how much?
Try sumopower or abbey I think they map fcon pro\'s also. If it\'s just a case of which is the better ecu the fcon wins hands down, but if it\'s a case of which one you can take almost anywhere to get mapped then the apexi wins hands down.
as J4P RX says the real problem is that there aren\'t any rotary tuners who are licenced to map the FCON V over here, GT-Art are hot on the GTR but pistons are very different to rotors! The other option would be TDI who have a very good rep, but again not on the rotary side. Once you have forked out for a PFC, had it installed and mapped the price will be similar, but you will then have a recognised and commonly used ECU to suit the FD.
You need to have it tuned by a rotary specialist. Rotary tuning is Very different to piston engine, the tolerances are much tighter. A/F ratios and ignition is different. I would persoanlly recommend the Power FC anyway, but I think lots of people dont realise everything it can do.
@ Sam : Lots!!! :D
Power Fc and Avcr will only cost me 750 yoyos shipped from Japan and wud be alot easier to maintain than the FCon...
So who wants to buy an FCon V Pro and Evc III Boost controller??? :Thumbsup!
But what bhp can it handle?? Its not that it doesnt have enough already i just want a high boost setting for drag racing and theres alot of people i want to beat and want to get the most out of the car i can!
Cheers
well Ross (Dragon) is probably running the most powerful car on here (not sure if it is still running a PFC - Ross?) but it certainly was
btw how much for the EVC III? I really need a boost controller!
For F-CON Pro + Rotarys you best bet will be TDI.
Hope this helps

Dunno how much are they worth??
And im gonna ring 1 of the tuners and have a chat about changin to the power fc and get a price etc... FCon is too messy....
What makes you think it needs a remap by the way? have you had it on a rolling road and tested the power its making and the afrs?
500bhp is enough to get you into the tens on quarter anyway with the right tyres

Havent got it tested yet... Gary in Gt Art warned me not too boost it on 95 the way it is now or it will def blow... Dont really want to do that!
97 isnt available anymore but i can get sum from a place that supplies the rally drivers... Mite get a bit of av gas as well to mix with it...
The only thing is the ecu is flashin a red light the whole time... 2 blips and then 3 blips straight after... Dont know what it means, asked Gary and was told that it mite be co the battery died while it was on the way over and it has to check all the sensors and will do that, but its doin it the whole time and still dont know what it is... :(
