Title: Windscreen not demisting
Post by: strange_days_uk on January 04, 2006, 03:16:24 PM
Hi all,

When I select try to demist my windscreen with moving the selector and putting the fan onto setting 4 full blast, no air comes out of the vents on top of the dash, just all the the other ones, so I end up swabbing my windscreen with a cloth every minute is a right pain.

The selector seems puggered, it moves all the way around and doesn\'t seem to affect which vents the air comes out of at all !!

Anyone know what might be causing this ?

Thanks alot, Simon..

Mine seems to have done the same thing, although fortunately for me, it is in the windscreen position.  Not sure on the fix for it though...

Hia all,

I had a siimaler problem with mine..... the position of air flow was changing but it didn\'t corespond to what the dial said!!!

Check the motors:

1) turn on your ignition so the heater fan opperates.
2) Turn off the fan so all is quiet
3) Turn the position dial from all the way right (windscreen) to the left (face I think)
4) listen for the electric motors & see if they opperate

if the motors work then its probably the same problem as I\'ve got! turn the dial from full left to the feet position and you will probably find it is then set to the screen!!

If that fails put the drivers seat right back & shoe horne yourself into the footwell, looking up towards the sigaret lighter. Looking up, to the right of the lighter you will see a small metal bar that go to an electric steper motor, check that it isn\'t disconected.

If its conected and still no joy, you can disconect the arm and manualy set the heater to the screen position as a temp fix. You can do this by rotating the disk the arm fixes to and then secure the arm any way you can!!

Hope this helps,
Jono
