Title: charging stabilizers.
Post by: SCOOMER on January 03, 2006, 11:28:36 PM
Hi all,

Anyone know anything about voltage stabilizers?

Ive seen a few on flee bay and tryed to do a search on the forum but not much info on them.

Do they actually increase HP and fuel consumption or are they a worthless money making gimmick?

Heres a pic of a greddy stabilizer.....

I just installed one at the weekend.  I noticed smoother idling, that is about it.  Very easy to install.

I checked on my Power FC Commander, and the battery voltage is normally steady at 14 - 14.2 Volts.  I figured that the stabilizer would STABILIZE this to 12 Volts, no such luck.  Exactly the same.

Make of it what you will.  Looks cool under the bonnet, can\'t do any harm, and at $12 plus shipping from yankee land can\'t be too bad.

Simon..

I very much doubt there are any gains to be had by this.

Is it actually even made by Trust/Greddy?

No they are not made by Greddy or Apexi or Nismo the ones on flea bay, plus you will notice they are exactly the same box on all three brands. Just a box with a bunch of transitors in them
