Just fitted a new boost pipe to the gauge..... the old one had a one way valve in it for some reason so it was acting like a peak hold!!!
But I noticed that the boost gauge needle was waving at me... some times very eratic!!!
I know that the one way valve didn\'t let pressure through until it passed 0.4 bar and the needle would jump into life!! could this sudden movement have nakerd my gauge over the years of it being like this???? I haven\'t noticed any running issues with the engine. still starts first time hot or cold with plenty of throttle responce and running 265 fly bhp!!
Any sujestions??
Cheers
Jono
check it with what the commander is readin
ASP..... No comander, all stock on that front!!!

it should be ok mate.
When you say it "waves around" what do you mean?
The boost gauge waving it you a bit between 4 and 5k is totally normal. You should have 0.8ish bar before 4k, a wave between 4 and 5, and then 0.6-0.8 bar above that (will probably hit 0.8 bar at 6k and then decrease as revs increase)
can you get a video?
the needle has a perminent case of the DT\'s from about -150 through to 0.8 bar, but it has a mind of its own: some times the needle wavers about 1 mm and other times 5-6mm on the RE:A gauge!! but there is a rattle from inside the guage aswell which makes me hopeful that its not the motor!!!
Jono
DT\'s?
The boost needle will drop to about 0.5bar at 4k and back up to 0.8 again, so a 5-6mm wave is normal.
The amount of boost difference you get at transition varies depending on altitude, air pressure, temprature etc. As long as your getting 0.8 bar most of the time, i wouldbnt worry.
Some times I get alot more!!!! 1.0 and on 2 ocasions 1.2 bar!!
The needle is permenantly shaking not only at the trasition point @4500 rpm also the gauge rattles as if there is something loose inside???? could this be down to the sudden surge of pressure to the gauge when the one way valve was fitted?
you wouldnt get a surge of pressure with the one way valve, but it does indeed sound forked.
get a new one
check the bolts of your downpipe-turbos...
