Also does anyone know what the score is for taxes etc on getting a rebuild kit from the US. Could it be wavered somehow!? ;)

Thanks
Nick

Sometimes people are happy to put down that it\'s a gift on the packaging and that the monetary value for customs is zero. That way it should go through, sometimes it will do anyways :)

Bruce suplys rebuild kits to Rotary Aviation and Atkins etc.

He has a bit of a Following. Go on the US sites and ask about Bruce Turrentine hes bit well known in the Rotary world.

The place he runs is called East Coast Rotary thay have branches off for Aviation  etc i think that parts run By Tracy and Laura Crook.

Just been looking at their website, the one linked at the top, and thought it very interesting to read that their High performance apex cgi seals can take 30psi and as they say, they have detonated their test engine to the extent that they \'broke the rear housing\' !!!!!  Never heard of cgi seals before but has anyone ever used them?
  What are they made from?
   cheers all, michael.

Anyone thats got a Rotary Aviation,Resources or East coast Rotart Kit will have fitted them.

They are Steel and thats about as far as my Technical metallurgy Knowledge goes :)

But i have never Blown a CGI apex?

Have you seen the rest of the Kit? he uses Viton and Teflon encapsulated seals. Which sounds good but i always wanted to know if stock Mazda seals where Viton and Teflon ?

On the down side he doesn\'t supply Oil pan gaskets or ft Oil pump cover gaskets?

But i have rebuilt Two engine using his Sealer Method and i\'ve not had one leak?

In my Opinion, I usaly go for the Basic Kit and add too it any bits extra i need this way it works out a good Buget kit that does exactly what is says it does? Then all you realy need then is to replace the worn/Damaged parts.

Cheers grizzly

i have been scouting about and read somewhere that the apex seal springs supplied with the RA/RR kits are for N/a purposes only. Not sure how true this is or if anyone can elaborate on this but i think i will probably get the kit and maybe add mazda springs, seals.

To be honist i didn\'t know there was two types? I thought he used the Fd type Twin springs in all his kits. I very much doubt he would sell a Turbo kit with anything less quality than the origanal Turbo parts.

Whats the diffrence? I thought the Stock T2 and Na\'s where the old single spring type?

Your best of ringing him and asking?

Chris,

it was something that i have picked up on many times when scouting through the us site rx7club.com. I found out some more actually, apparently there were a few batchs of rebuild kits last year that had faulty springs in them and they were simply not strong enough for the Twin Turbo engine setup.

I think now this has been rectified but it clearly states on the Rotaryaviation website that "Springs are for STOCK TURBO and NON NITROUS engines only. Please use OEM springs for high boost turbo and nitrous applications".

I will be using oem springs with there seals as i think it is better to be safe than sorry and it also gives you the chance to upgrade without worrying wheher the RA springs will handle it.

Cheers
