Title: Indicator problem - help please
Post by: framey on December 23, 2005, 08:19:50 AM
Hi folks,
I have a problem with my indicators which is driving me mad - any help appreciated.
My passenger side front indicator\'s not working! Simple problem I hear you all say, but there\'s more!
First thing I checked is the bulb - fine
Next checked the earth - fine
Checked the rear one incase it was drawing all the current - fine
put on another unit - same problem
found that the voltage at the connector was only 3-4 vdc - hmmm
same at the relay
tried another flasher relay (cpu2) - just the same - (expensive)D\'oh!

Anybody experienced the same problem?
Cheers

My mate had a similar problem with his mini. turned out to be a dirty conection on the wireing to the light unit!!!

Do the lights flash at the normal speed, or run quicker as if the buld has blown?? this could point you in the direction of the fault!!

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies.
Jono FD3 - Yes the lights flash at twice the normal speed - just like a bulb is out. Only the front bumper unit is not working - all the rest on that side flash quicker. Hmm, maybe I\'ll check the sidelight works also.

7ForLife - actually I live in Hythe, that\'s a very kind offer, cheers.

I\'ll give it another try when I\'m back from my hols. If not, I\'ll be back on here.
Thanks again
