wonder what let go that dramtically ?
from the pile of debris on the burnout pad it looks like a diff failure but the flames and engine note say otherwise ! ... oops :D

My initial thought was that the Clutch & bits exploded.....severing fuel lines and all the rest....
its not like it can throw a rod is it :D
It was at the Summer Nationals a few years ago - the NZ guys reckoned it was a flywheel failure that wiped out the entire engine bay...
Guys - fit ballistic blankets!
....and the crowd goes wild! :rollin
Guttted for him though :( I\'ve seen another vid of a 1st gen ejecting his flywheel dring a burnout, it caused similar results.
Ballistic blanky\'s will be fitted to the lil one for RS III,cause im gonna wear out 2 sets of slicks (all I got),gonna cane the bitch cos i need to see how to improve her...need to set a bench mark for N\\A cars in the UK,will Only get things rolling on the old school front...... :cool ,so big burnouts will be the order of the day at RS III.. :burnout
It was the flywheel.
All rotaries in NZ that see the strip must be fitted with a scatter blanket to run. The summerdrags usually see at least one rotor explode!! The crowds love to see a rotor being pushed to and beyond the limit!!!
well, hopefully you will have somthing to compete for soon ... its a work in progress at the moment and still classified ;)
Just noticed that link credits Bryces RX-7 vid with a "~7sec - 1/4 mile" :Hammer :p

I saw that? I thought that run (assuming its \'the\' video of Bryces car) was a 10 some thing? ALthough I believe he was/is re-engineering the car a bit so...??
yep that\'s Bryces car (my mate Brendan took that video)
