I think 13 will be an inline filter but cant help with 14 im afraid. Looks like a mounting bracket of some sort

maybe the bloke i got it from didnt have it on. Looking at 14 i dont think i need it. I think it just keeps the bracket straight when fitting.

I just want to make sure i have everything before my boyfriend fits it.
He thinks he needs a rubber bung,
13
and some jubilee clips.

Sounds like he has it sorted.

Here is a pic of the offending area if its any use. The red arrow is the mounting place i would say. It has a bolt in it so i would not bother with it as long as all is secure

(14) is just an additional support bracket  to try and stop the actual mounting bracket twisting downward due to the weight of the Dump valve, the worst that will happen is that you will find the thing drooping a bit from time to time when you lift the bonnet.

Very few cars that I see with various attachments off the vacuum side of the inlet manifold have the filter attached  (13) and I don\'t know of any that have suffered ill effects due to not having the filter in-line.

So all in all, go for it and fit it with what you have available.

Hope this helps

Thanks for all your help guys we are going to fit it this afternoon  :cool

We have now fitted the bov with the walking stick mod :Laugh

The only trouble is is that it sounds very quiet. No where near as loud as the baileys on the astra.

Any ideas??? Or is it ment to be like this.
The little pipe from the bov to the manifold is on and the 90degree hose is all tight.
And of course the old pipe has been blocked off.

I thought that this BOV chirped rarther than a loud woosh sound. I may be wrong tho since i use the stock one vented to atmos

Yeah I agree with Scott, its not a whoosh you get with the HKS one.

My Blitz one I have is really loud.

Ok, i think it is right.

Did we need to remove anything? Just wasnt very loud. It runs fine and there is a noise.

P.S.

If you want to hear what the valve should roughly sound like, go to the sound clip links on this website for the SSQV

the hks will never whoosh like other valves, they make a chirping sound.i had one on a scooby and got rid of it the sound was horrible and changing the insert makes naff all difference..bailey valve is cheaper and sounds tons beter..amazed people buy the hks..they make a lot of good stuff but their dump valves sound puny..people with no airbox think it is their dump valve whooshing its not it is the sound thru the filters..the hks sounds like a budgie

The HKS one I had was Fin loud. What insert do you have? Silver one was the loud chirp, purple was high pitched and long (a bit like the greddy) and without one it was just quiet.

Stock airbox :) and it is a sort of chirp i guess, but its not quiet on mine  :driving

MissRX7: Have you got a boost guage fitted to make sure that your turbos are good. If you have a boost leak or the turbos arent 100% it could cause the valve to be quieter.

Turbos Are good. Rebuilt 5kmiles ago. and they pull. Dont think there is a leak. Im positive its ment to be louder than it is

the hks will only ever chirp if u look at a bailey one it is single piston and on lift off has a very large area to expell the air..on my impreza unless u were giving it wot u could barely hear it sounded like a budgie being strangled
