Title: Help - GReddy Profec B Boost controller
Post by: strange_days_uk on December 17, 2005, 01:04:25 PM
My Gen 3 has 1 of the above installed.  Currently running at 0.6 bar.  Does this device act as a fuel cut defender ?  And can you please tell me, at what point does the stock ecu cut fuel to the rear rotor ?

Many thanks, this could help me sort out me motor very quickly !!

I have ordered an apexi Power FC, I assume this will get rid of any fuel cut.

the profec will not cut fuel it will merely lower boost if it exceeds the set limit and i doubt the fuel cut wld only go to one rotor..get the apexi and get it mapped u shldnt be getting fuel cut at .6 bar

I think you misunderstand me.  The Profec will not CUT fuel, because it wants to turn up the boost.  What I am asking is if it acts to stop the ECU cutting the fuel, or if you would need a Fuel Cut Defencer as well.  Because, my car has a Profec but I cannot find a FCD, which would explain the lack of boost and power.  I want to know at which point the ECU normally cuts fuel, if it is 0.6 bar then this would then seem likely that when I put in my Apexi all will be well

the profec is a standalone boost controller it will control boost at whatever u set it too it will not fuel cut at all it will only adjust boost..not sure at what level fuel cut occurs on standard ecu but def not at .6bar as standard twins i think run at .7bar..u need to get a apexi and get it mapped correctly.if u are getting fuel cut then something is def wrong somewhere
