I\'ve recently done a single turbo conversion but I now seem to be experiencing problems with the idle.
It did it before, but seemed to sort itself out and has just randomly started doing it again.
Basically, the idle will rise to 2500rpm and there is nothing I can do to change it. However, every now and then it will drop and the idle hunts between 800 and 1500rpm
I\'ve checked the inlet manifold and elbow for leaks on the gaskets, which I cannot find. I\'ve also checked the vacuum hoses and again no joy. Finally, I cleaned up and lubricated the throttle body and idle control valve, which helped slightly.
Could it be that my idle control valve is knackered? The car is still driveable, but its just somewhat annoying (and loud).
Thanks
Dan
Have you tried removing the electrical plug to BAC valve, just to prove that is the fault? Also double check to make sure you\'ve blocked any unused nipples in upper/lower intake manifold.
Have you also disconnected coolant feed to throttle body, it may not be coming off cold idle. Although 2500 RPM sounds to high for this.

I\'ve removed the two plugs at the back of the upper inlet manifold, neither of which reduced the idle to normal. I\'ve not tried taking off the hose, as it seems to have the problem regardless of the engine temp.
I was driving back with a warm engine and it simply decided to start doing it whilst I was driving. I did block off all of the unused nipples, but i\'ll whip it off and check them again tomorrow
I had the exact problem with mine today. It only seems to do it when hot or stuck in traffic. I think that coolant feed is still there on my car and will be blocking that off soon and see what difference it makes. But mine dont go as high as 2500rpm only 800 to 1200 or so.. but still anoying if you stuck in traffic....in London....lol.. :reallymad
I had the same sort of problem a few months back with my FD...I stripped the plenum off and cleaned everything up.Couldnt find any air leaks etc...I removed the idle valve and found a piece of carbon stuck in the valve which would\'nt allow it to close...might be worth a look.. :)
