Title: Headlights wont go down...
Post by: Ian_s on September 06, 2003, 11:32:09 PM
Hi,
My headlights dont want to go back down though I can still turn the lights on and off.  Anybody know what might be causing this?  Is there a fuse somewhere that I should check?

Cheers

Ian

I have a button on mine which pops the lights up without making them come on.  Then you press it again and the lights go down.

Maybe you just pressed this button without realising it.  It about in line with the top of the steering wheel to the right.

Cheers

Take the black plastic cover off that surrounds the headlamp unit and see if the connecting rod (bronze colour about 6 inches long) that has a ball joint connector at each end has come off.

Hi Ian,

This may be worth a try ,

Look down the side of the headlamp inside the engine compartment and you will see a rubber cover on the headlamp motor pull these off and you will find a red knob and if you turn it this will wind the lamps down manually

Repeat on the other side and then with both down turn them back on again and you may find that they reset themselves , this is something l have known work in the past.

Hope this helps.

All the best Clive

Thanks for the reply\'s.  I checked the ball joints and they are ok.  I also wound them down manually but they wouldnt go back down again once I had popped them up again?
