Hello y\'all
I\'ve just converted over to a single on my FD and its been mapped by Ross @ Dragon. However, whilst it was loud before, the exhaust seems as loud as it was before at idle and normal pootling about, but now when I give it a bit of welly its stupidly loud now!
Is this the case for all single turbo\'d ones? Are they all incredibly loud?
Any suggestions for a quieter exhaust. I "think" that its a Hyper SR cat back exhaust on it, with a Dragon De-cat and the downpipe straight from the turbo to the decat pipe?
Racing Beat. Good flow characteristics and quiet with it.
i think you\'ll find most single turbos silly loud to be honest..... I have to FD\'s at the moment and like you said tick over on the single turbo is like running around in the twin
you\'ll need to get a silenced mid pipe..that the only way to shut it up significantly.
Go to a good fabricator such as Hayward & Scott they will tailor the system to whatever volume you like, typical price at Haywards for full stainless downpipe back system is £528 inc, if you want it polished etc then they\'ll do that too for more money.
As stupid as this sounds, I presume that the mid-pipe is the bit that goes where the CAT used to be, so if I get a silenced de-cat pipe it should help?
hell yes!!!
Righto, will have a word with Ross on the weekend.
Only silenced mid-pipe that is worth a dame is the FEED one from RE:WORX, I have an HKS exhaust system with the FEED and have no probs passing the db tests for any track ( you can get a baby\'s head in my HKS rear box ). No probs talking/music inside car and no headache on a long run. If you want it nice and silent but sounding sweettttttttttt when you WOT then do what MAX has done and also fit the FEED back box. HTH. :cool
But Feed exhaust parts are ££££!!!
Certainly one of, if not - the best tho.
