Title: Headlights
Post by: jetpilot on December 11, 2005, 07:03:24 PM
Hi Guys
I have been trying to alter my headlights as they are un level when they are up, have been using the twist adjuster under the bumper, but, everytime i close and reopen them, they come up unlevel again, :2Confused .

Is there a way to get it to stay level!!!!!!!
Thanks

if you remove the black surrounds on the lights then you will be able to get to the adjuster screws.

Maybe i didnt explain too well, its not the actual headlight alignment, its the lights themselves, one light always raises higher than the other if that makes more sense.

I think there are too stops under the headlight pod. But failing that you could flatten the rod from the Motor to the Headlight out a bit more to raise it or bend it to lower it? But thats the rough way.

There is an Ajuster though. The one under the ft of the car is just the Manual up and down, when you turn the lights on it will auto find its own pre set hight.

My car has got the same problem one light higher than other when closed, I turned the red manual up and down, after close and reopen them, they come up unlevel again.
If its possible to change the pre set height?

Can you manually lift the lwo headlight by hand? If so try lubricating all the pivots and joints in the headlight mechanism. This used to happen to me and in fact the slow headlight actually jammed shut in the end. 5 mins with some WD40 and grease and hey presto - all sorted.

...oh and if it actually is your headlight motor which is the problem, I have a spare drivers side one. I bought this when my headlight jammed shut thinking I was doing the right thing only to find that all I needed was a little lubrication. Sometimes I am very very dim....
