removing my ikeya shifter soon as despite its unusual looks it\'s a bit clunky to use, takes up a crap load of space, and round town it\'s a killer on the arms. I also need to respring it as its not fully returning from throw so its got to come off anyway. Just wondering what it\'s like changing gear with a normal shifter in an rx7? worth getting a short shifter and brace things up a bit, or just suck it and see what standard is like before throwing money away? Cheers :)
Is that the sequential shifter??
Always wondered what they were like  I guessing not much good if your looking at getting rid :xconfused
Rich
aye sequential shifter, it\'s good, but it\'s not multipurpose, if you\'re going to town it gets annoying, if you\'re on the motorway you tend to just be in 5th, but if you\'re flying round the track then great since you\'d usually have both hands on the wheel and wanting the lever up close to your left. It\'s also nice getting in the car and feeling closed in, if that makes sense. Like sitting in your own fighter plane :)

Cheers.
B&M short shifters are the best. Ebay from the states.
Mark.
Cheers dude, read up about the B&M and seems like the \'only\' option if i wanted a short shifter. However looks like only the torsion spring has gone on the ikeya so easy fix, now i\'ve taken the shroud off im more inclined to keep it, at least doesn\'t look like something out of day of the tentacle and the stainless steel looks real nice amongst all the black. Shame though as i really want to try a \'normal\' gear box :)
Ive got the RE:Amemyia D1 change lever.... havn\'t fitted it yet though so cant tell you what its like :p
I might do it at teh weekend and I\'ll see if theres a difference but the stock gear shift is prety short anyway.
