Title: Air Pump Clutch Fault!help
Post by: ro284 on December 11, 2005, 12:34:38 PM
AS above, My air pump clutch not working, i think it\'s an elecro-magnetic clutch, there is continuity in the pump it\'s self but there is no voltage to the plug, anyone know where the wires go please, must be to a sender unit of some kind i guess, under the UIM, will it do any damage to run it? the car runs ok, so i hope it\'s just emmisions it may affect!
Cheers Guys Bob

Hi Bob,

Don\'t worry you can just unplug your air pump to stop it engaging or even remove it completely if you wish with the aid of either an underdrive pulley  kit or just a shorter belt without any causing any ill effects to the running of your car in any way as the pump is there purely to pump air into the cat to aid emissions
