Why is it a leek, can you hear anything?
It might be a pipe collapsing under pressure?

i can hear the air hissing on any boost at all.
so i assumed it was a leak

any ideas?  it sounds like it is coming from the drivers footwell.

Hi James,

If you can hear "whooshing" in the cab ( I think that\'s what you meant)
have a look at the 70mm joiner hose from the top plastic hard pipe to the inlet manifold on the drivers side.

Do you have a boost gauge ?

i have a boost gauge

this pipe does look a bit worse for wear it has been changed before as it has an aftermarket blue pipe instead.

i have tightened it but maybe it has split then.
i will get another piece of pipe and replace it.

It does hold boost but a max of 0.6 and on full throttle makes a whistle noise.

thanks

When you put the plastic hard pipe back on use a couple of large outside diameter washers on the two 6mm retaining bolts as this stops the hard pipe lifting off the rubber mounts.

If its not that take off the lower 70mm elbow on the intercooler and inspect it as you won\'t be able to see if its split whilst its on the car.

With all your help I have now fixed the problem.

exactly what you guys said!

boost connector off the top plastic hard pipe had split half way round.

it is boosting much higher than ever on the boost settings that were put on my profec B  so i have turned it down a bit.  also DO YOU THINK THIS caould have caused the problem i had when they were mapping it???

it hit 5500 rpm then power dropped then came back up again

very severe  they said it was my coils as it only did it on high boost (which i have now changed)  but i wonder if this didnt help either.

any opinions would be appreciated

Thanks Gary for all your help.
Recomended to anyone! certainly goes out of his way to help.

Its very likely that was the cause, you may have replaced them un-necessarily, the only way you will know is to put them back and re-run. Glad its sorted.
Title: well what i will do

what i will do is put it on the rolling road as it is and see how it performs
see my last graph below:
