Title: Replacement bulbs & pads
Post by: fletch on December 06, 2005, 09:12:26 PM
Can anyone help?

Im after ideally a spare set of bulbs for my rex, but urgently need a spare rear bulb and really struggling to find one. Please help!!!

Just recently my brakes have not been acting like they are suppose to. Occassionally the pedal goes hard when braking and braking is not as affective. I think it could be the pads wearing, not sure how amny miles they have done. You know anywhere i can get some cheap ones as cash is tight at the moment, and cant afford uprated ones yet. Would prefer to get them from in the Uk so postage is not expensive.

Appreciate any help on either of these matters.

You could try giving Jimmys a ring, Andrew there may be able to sort something out.

If the pedal goes really hard and needs a lot of pressure to slow or stop the car it could be the small rubber hose that goes form the brake servo to the manifold.  The hose gets hard and brittle because of age and the heat in the engine bay, and if small cracks appear on it you will lose some servo assistance.

I had the same problem with mine.  From Mazda it is quite expensive for what it is (around £32) but cheaper than replacing your front bumper and bonnet. Alternatively you could go to any motor factors store and buy some hose with the same diameter.  You\'ll need to cut a small valve out of the existing hose and insert it into the new one.
