As above, How much oil per 1000k roughly, Not heavy use! mine hardly uses any! how would you know if the pump has stopped working? is there a fuel cut or something? or does the engine sieze? i use Still high revving chain saw oil as premix to make sure the rotors and seals are lubricated, I think the RX8s may use more, from what iv\'e heard, not sure though, any info/advice guys?

I wouldn\'t be too concerned. Mine never needs any added in between oil changes (3k miles). Although mine spends all its time trotting gently up and down the M3.
As long as the oil pressure is normal, the main oil pump is working. The pump that injects oil into the rotor housings is the OMP. OMP failure causes limp home mode, and you\'ll know when that happens - you can barely touch the throttle without the engine cutting out. Oddly, no dash warning light though.
Not sure whether you got the PFC, but the sensor check on the commander allows you to see the OMP position sensor voltage too, in case you get paranoid :-)
Keith
Thanks Kieth, I remember you had problems with yours, but could not remember any symptoms you had, motor runs lovely, so ok i guess, due for oil change got new belts plugs too, time is the biggest problem!
Thanks Bob
Work on 1 x ltr per 1000 miles. HTH. :cool ( I do give it some stick on full boost so please take that into account ) :flamed
Depends how you drive it. If you just plod about then it should hardly use any, but if you hoon it about you will use more oil.
The higher the boost, the more you will use.
Fish
Thanks Warthog, Fish, i just potter about at this time of year, so that may explain why it doesn\'t use much, and the car is hoon free so far!
