It wasn\'t the same problem i had then???? This sounds really silly and im sure you have already but have you checked al intercooler and boost pipes. Made sure all clips done up tightly etc........

You didn\'t get beat by the gen 1  did you  :p

P.s. who was it that was with you at boxhill i didn\'t catch his name.

that was peter his brother chrisrx7  is on mrc he has an fd too

no chance my car might leak boost but i would need to be stationary for the 1st gen to beat me  :-D

i have checked most of the pipes  I think it must be one under the plenum as i took it off a couple of days ago i figure it has got to be under there :-(
means bloody taking it off once again :reallymad

Would help if you could describe the characteristics of the problem a little more! noise, effect on performance, boost levels etc

i it making a hissing noise like air coming out a small piper rather than anything large.
i get a max of .65 bar but normally 0.6 max
sounds like it is coming from almost inside the drivers footwell
but i have already checked the boost gauge and controller so it is not them.

Are there any boost pipes under the plenum that would cause this throught the revs?

I\'ve had a few problems like this and learnt the hard way, so can only hopefully point you in the right direction.

First off, noises from under the bonnet can be very decepetive - I had a similar problem and thought it was coming from the passenger footwell - ended up being the coupler on the intercooler, nowhere near where i thought it would be!

In my limited experience, anything under the phlenum would hinder your boost, it did with mine, i.e. i could only boost to 0.2 when a pipe was loose - so it sounds like something else.

When you boost, does it remain steady up through the gears? If it does not remain steady, i.e. you boost to 0.6 then it reduces to 0.4 it sounds like you have a crack in a pipe post uim, and then its just checking all fittings and pipes from the turbos back to the intercooler.

Sorry can\'t be of more help, i know it can be frustrating  :)
Title: it hold very well at 0.5- 0.6

it hold very well at 0.5- 0.6

so i am almost sure it is a small pipe

i will have a look under the plenum tonight.
