Title: Making it run nice and smooth
Post by: mpaul0055 on September 04, 2003, 09:54:36 PM
Hi

This is my first post to the forum and wanna say hi. First of all i pick my 1992 RX7 up Tommorrow and am looking to replace the Plugs, Oil Filter, Fuel Filter, Air Filter and also a full oil change. Ive been told this will rally help the performace/running of the rx7. Is this true. Im also looking for a ECU upgrade, not a ECU controler just a upgrade. Anyone know of any good ones.

I Basically have 1000 to put towards Performance and styling and putting about 500 into each. what will give me the best performance for a good price. want to get up to that 280bhp :)
Cheers, posts tonight would be cool as im picking it up tommorow at 9, GOD CANT WAIT!!!

Cheers Mark

P.S my old car is up for sale too. Seat Ibiza 210bhp 1.8 20v Turbo. Loads of mods. 9,500 no offers. email if intrested. :)

Mark, welcome on board. You have made a good move in coming over to rotary power.

For the ECU you would be best getting the Apexi PFC. This is a complete replacement ECU that controls everything the OE unit does, but you can adjust the fuelling and ignition .

Then save up for the pretty addon bits.

The PFC is a great plug and play ECU..... if you can afford it get one! :)

However, get it tuned after fitting, the base maps tend to be very rich on idle.
