Heading down to Daikuko on the C1 ;)

Lol! You guessed it - was thinking about taking the to Japan for the Auto Salon but it\'s alot of money, so I opted for the next best thing a virtual trip! Maybe I\'ll take the car over in 2007 and get the rest of the settings completed by Ama san - if I can force myself to save some money.

You have been busy mate!! Car looks fantastic as ever, particularly like the tunnel pic...can almost hear the noise... :D

Since i\'ve lost all the pics i\'d spent hours doctoring after my hard drive decided to go meet it\'s maker i\'ve had nothing to look at for a few weeks...great timing that i should manage to hook up the internet on my bro\'s PC and you should make a post like this! :D

Only shame is i never got to show you the edited pics of your car i took, some came out really well. Doh!

Sorry about the PC losing the pics, I would\'ve liked to see them too - I take it you couldn\'t recover any of the old data?

Hey wide boy :)

I can\'t remember seeing any power figures for your setup?  Do you know the figures?

Ben, any chance of you posting up that first pic in 1280x1024 size, as its just itching to go on my desktop.....
Title: My car in Japan!
Post by: Initial-D on December 05, 2005, 02:09:59 PM
Lol thanks Gurj!

Chris at present I have no power figures what-so-ever! According to my Max Power bhp chart I have at least 1100bhp at the wheels!! But then agian I never added their sticker to my windscreen so it\'s probably around 380 or so. I\'m just a shade quicker than Ferrari 360 CS from a rolling start and there quoted at just under 400 I believe.

Tim, I posted the biggest the forum allows me too at 1100px wide, if you can PM me your email I\'ll send you a bigger version when I get back from the office.

Gotta add to my power answer that I\'m running only .7 boost so I\'m not even spooling the tubby up properly yet. Once the new clutch and box is in I can see what the turbo can do (well when the weathers a bit better)!

Amazing! I was looking at the one Ross brough on yahoo japan. DROOL

If mine doesn\'t break down in the next 3 months I can afford to start modifying it, RMagic style  :cool BUT you mentioned that you can do graphics?

I\'ll be in touch
Title: My car in Japan!
Post by: Initial-D on December 05, 2005, 08:31:47 PM
Cheers Kieron! R-Magics wide-body is pretty mental, you thinking of going for that? It\'s quite speacial and no people I know of have it in the UK.
You in need of graphics? Surely not after your recent purchase from Japan!

Bah. Unfortunately i\'ve had no luck yet. Apparently it\'s an error with the MBR, read a fair bit about it on a tech forum somewhere and the only solution that my pedestrian brain can make any sense of is to get a new hard drive! I did hear it is possible to \'ghost\' the data from my drive to another empty one but haven\'t a clue how!!

Bet you\'re itching to discover what kind of power she\'s running! The Stradale is rated at 425bhp, and i believe it weighs roughly the same as a stock FD. However it\'s gearbox is reputed to be ridiculously effective. Think the changes take 150 milliseconds or thereabouts. Rather faster than moving the gearstick around i guess! However the CS, like the base 360, is relatively torque-less. Generates about 280lb/ft at around 4800rpm i think...not a lot really. But then it\'s designed specifically for peak power, as the 118bhp per litre specific output figure suggests!

Any car that can keep a CS honest must be seriously rapid! Think they cover 0-60 in 4.1 to 4.2 seconds and on to 100 in well under 10. Quarter mile is very low 12\'s apparently. Not a spectacular time if you\'re used to reading about the adventures of 800+bhp Skylines but pretty nippy for a factory-produced road car!!

Err sorry about that. Bit carried away, especially over a ferrari... although to be honest i was fortunate enough to hear one at a dealership near me...

Yeah man, RMagic all the way  :chat

I couldn\'t afford the decals int he end as I had to have another engine, who budgets for 2 engines in 6 months?
Oh well it\'s back again with a decent street ported motor, now I got to save up for the decals and kit. There is an RMagic wideboy for sale at the moment but too much $$
