Come on Normski, lets ee some pictures of yours then!!
We build our 20b engine last night, its the first tripple we have done, it was quite straight forward but done in reverse to a 13b.
He are some pics, as you can see everything is getting polished to within an inch of its life, so even it doesnt go well, it will look good! :p
Still lots to do as we are going back to a manual gearbox until we get the engine and supercharger set up. Then when we destroy the manual we will get a strong auto. Its too difficult to set all the unknowns with an engine and a gearbox at the same time.
some pics are duplicated from another post..
Good work fella, when will it be ready to show off what it can do?
May be a silly question, i don\'t know. But why is there a bigger gap between the rotor housings of the top one and the middle one, as there is between the bottom on and the middle one?
its because you have the stationary gear and centre bearing in there.
Looking really good that guys. What kinda power do you think it will put out and are you going to let us all have a go? :rollin
Adam
What are the 2 smaller coolers in the top right pic? (either side of the big one)
the two either side of the main rad (long thinones) are charge coolers for the water in the charge cooler, these are connected to the two smaller ones on top of the main rad as well. Th square ones at the far left and right are replacement oil coolers. (from a cosmo)
Not sure on power, as much as possibly but 500 atw would be nice at 1 bar.
allowed to drive it............... unlikely!
WOW :god If only i had the oppertunity and time to pop up and see whats involved. Would love to have some hands on in a rebuild... yet alone a 20B rebuild:)
engines in, although i havent done much myself as i have been working
Even with the rad and the fans right at the front of the car the supercharger wouldnt fit on the front of the engine with out hitting the fans so we moved the engine back as you can see. It was moved over 5 inches back and an in and half lower. Which means even though its a tripple, the front of the engine sits behind the steering rack which is nice.
Its completely custome made engine mounts. Still lots of pipe work to be done but we are still waiting for the throttle body.
There is now almost 24 inches between the rad and the front of the engine.
Anyone know anybody who will polish an Alternator?, our one looks out of place now! Its not an FD one so cant swap for a polished FD one.
EXCELLANT WORK GUYS,
Hope it goes like stink !!!!
PS - i think Ross has a polished alternator ? :cheers
This is what the engine will look like when done although everything needs polishing properly,
The new throttle body is fitted. Its 105mm ID, thats a 4inch pipe going to it.
That is absolutely fantastic, Looks so minimalistic yet will pack one hell of a punch. Going to be one crazy setup :) Awesome work.

FDUK A DUCK!!!!! wow
Looks good.
What EMS you planning on running on it. I presume you got a scatter shield for this puppy. Looks very porposeful
Scott
microtec LTX12
scatter sheild? whats that
Scatter shields are only used on Pro drag cars for saftey regs on the NRA circuit in america. They basically cover the gearbox bellhousing area in case the engine/gearbox goes bang.
I dont think you gonna need one unless you are planning to run 1000bhp , methonal etc lol
erm, best get one then!

Every rotor on the strip in NZ must have one fitted as well. Don\'t think that you have to be making 1000bhp to have one!! I\'m surprised they aren\'t manatory in the U.K. actually.
So is it quite a common occurance Rotor Drag motors blowing up on the strip in NZ, must be quite scary with bits of metal flying around?
I suppose when a Piston engine blows and throws a rod through the crank case its more dangerous then a rotary engine
I have heard mega horror stories eg........
A flywheel broke up and cut through the bell housing and tunnel. It then cut the drivers legs off after that. Another guy dies when the clutch came apart and inbedded in his forehead. I will try and find the links for you
Anything that revs over 8K this is a must.
On the plus side. looking good son. When is the expected road debut
Scott
Here ya go

Its a very scary thought and judging by how far back the engine is the bell housing i would buy one.
Hope this helps

Just moved the thread into the correct section (left a redirect on also).
Wonderful project, can\'t wait to see and hear this thing in action.
NICE ONE! :)
That looks awesome.
Who owns it? or is it yours?
Will it be at Rotorstock 3 ??
How many more questions can i think of?
Ive never seen a Supercharger like that before, it looks like a turbo bolted on the front.
it belongs to my cousin Dave, he is not computer literate but is a wizz with anything metal. We were both working on it but i havent been able to as i have been busy. The whole lot has to come out now to put it all back properly now we know it fits. This is where i come in, i have left it to him when it comes to all the ali work, but i get involved in re wiring and plumbing, plus the engine rebuilding. etc etc.
What do I say! Give it if it\'s due, She is looking out there man. I am also going for nice look too. I have about 4 pics of it with the dummy engine in. which means it did not look that good at the time. Although this was about 7 weeks ago. Pip does not want me release any pics at this time, as he intends to put all on the web when it\'s completed.
He is taking his time on this one cos he wants to as good as it gets. and as he doing the whole thing as a sponser, it\'s between jobs. but it\'s getting very close to the end so I am told. :3gears-lh

If Pip wishes to keep it under wraps at the mo then you should deffo do that until its show time :2eek
I for one will be waiting to see this here project, my car is at Pip\'s at the mo but wont bother to try and get a sneak peek rest assured :wiggle
Na, I recon this other one looks the nuts, I hope it turns out Ok. Good luck with it! As I say my thing should not be too far behind. What blower is it running ? I am also going for the big six pot brakes as those standard ones, as good as they are, just won\'t cut it in warp drive!
Doweled, ported, semi dry sump, work done on the rear axel, Water injection again, brakes, Rad, sump modified. Turbonetics T72 blower, Multi plate clutch, gearbox shifted back around 5 inches. About 11lbs of boost. Should be around 550BHP at the rear end. Under bonnet re-spay, braided pips, polished plenum and alternator. I hope! Custom built manifold, Everything balanced as well as he can get it. :Thumbsup!
