Well im still toying with the idea of going single, and ive been reading stuff on here and gradually making a list up of the things that i think i will need and it certainly seems endless :( So i was thinking if i put a list of the stuff that i think i need, could someone please tell me if im shooting in the right direction  This list is in no particular order, (and i already have the apexi pfc, and decat)
Turbo kit (obviously)
uprated intercooler
underdrive pulley kit
Uprated fuel pump
Secondary fuel rail
Bigger injectors
fuel pressure regulator
Boost controller
Cant think of anything else at the minute, are all the things i have listed Necessary?????????? or could i get away with taking some of and getting them later on??? And is there anything that i have missed?
My overall plan is to buy a medium sized single and run it at no more than 0.9 bar, possible 1 bar on high boost, as i want this engine to last me a long time
Any help would be appriciated, also if you could tell me which brands and stuff to go for, that would be great to.
Cheers Andy.
If you\'re not planning on running big power, you could cut the cost by running 850cc primary injectors and keep the standard fuel pressure regulator. If you need big power in the future, then you can upgrade the secondaries, rail, fpr.
Im currently trying to go the same route.......... But it is a big project.
Id add to the list:
uprated radiator
Twin Jet Water Injection (aquamist)
Alloy AST (WGT)
Uprated Clutch (try before you buy)
maybe also:
engine brace
gearbox brace
Diff Brace (for drag racing)
Id reconmend the greddy profec 2 boost controller, can be used with the twins initially. Im running 1200 secondaries with uprated fuel pump on twins at 1 bar. Im running a Trust 3 core FMIC too, good for temps, but i think it needs water injection too. I\'ve also got a Feed Down-pipe, 3in megan racing decat and a Zigen Ehaust.
I\'d say that the best way is just to slowly build up towards going single, much more fun. You can get loads out of the twin setup before it runs out of steam. Im currently getting 300 ATW BHP :)
Probably loads more stuff !
Shaun
Oh i\'d reconmend the Dragon under-drive pulleys. I\'ve removed the air pump and the air con.
Shaun
Thanks for the replies. I thought that i was going over the top with the fueling, as i dont want to run big boost.

I was planning on doing that when i bought it but i have a stuffed second turbo and this is looking the best option in the long run
Also i have tried to metal ast\'s and both have leaked?
Do you have to have a front mount or \'v\' mount intercooler??? or can you live with an uprated side mount? i think i would prefer to do that and upgrade the radiator aswell. hmmmmm so many questions  :D
I\'ve got a Front mount, Adrian (eatmydust) has an uprated standard mount and i think he stuggles with air temps occasionally. The big question is weather you can buy a small turbo with a similar output to the twins with the same footprint as a much bigger turbo. It may tide you over until your able to install all the goodies for the big single and then all you do is stick a much bigger turbo on without too much hassle. Just an idea. Not sure what turbo would do it though, be interested to know !

Cheap option: Buy a S/H set of twins and go non seq. lose the rats nest get power the same as a TO4E all the advantages of going single without the hit of 3-5 G :yes

Im running non sequential at the minute, i have thought about replacing the twins, but second hand packs are around £300 with no guarantee they will last uprated hybrid twins from wgt are £2000 plus VAT then its going to cost around £500 to fit, so thats £2500 already, as i plan to keep this car for a good few years the cheap option doesnt make sense really as they could last a year or a week? This got me thinking about single, im trying to buy a kit at the minute for around £800-£900 with a reconned single. Then all the above list if i can get it for around 1200 that makes just over £2000!! (sorry this is long, bare with me) then all the shiny stuff on the car that i dont need i can sell, i think i would get about £500 for that stuff. plus the fitting of the kit works at in toatl to be around £2000 with peace of mind guarantee and i can make the same power i have now at lower boost so less stress on my engine!!
Thats my theory anyway :D :yes
Still comes down to type of turbo V\'s amount of power you want a good turbo kit is 2.5 -3K + all ancillaries- injectors, WI, FMIC / V Mount - Charge cooler ect. ect you will have spent 7+k [including mapping - getting it on the road] for what - \'my car is running 300ATW @ .8 bar\' so what, most of the single turbos talked about on this forum do not come into thier own before 1.2 bar and will make 400+ATW, so, a good alterative is still a non seq. set up which will give you the magic 300ATW without all the problems that the stock TT set up gives and saves you loads of ££££££££££££££
What do you think? AND as far as the insurance co is concerned you are still running \'stock\' turbos ;)
oops, its me that mentioned the 300 bhp ! And thats on sequential turbos !
I\'d say you would really need to dig hard to get the rest of the stuff for the budget your thinking. I know pip was talking about a GT35-40 kit for about 2k when i last asked him.
Shaun
Right oh, ive got the turbo kit sorted and have just bought an intercooler. i think i will get a greddy boost controller and the walbro 255 fuel pump, but im still unsure about what injectors to get. does a secondary fuel rail need a fuel computer (dont know what one is, but ive read posts on em??) it seems like i can either spend £300 on to 1200 or 1300 injectors then another 150 on a fuel pressure regulator or spend £400 on the secondary fuel rail kit from KGparts? if the cost is the same which one would be the best option? and i guess i need to add to the budget an uprated radiator, which one is the best as they all seem to be around the £400 mark  hopefully i will have all the bits and bobs ready for santa to fly down on his reindeer and fit them while im asleep :D :o
You need a tuner to tell the pfc what size the injectors are of they are over 1200\'s. The fuel rails are cool and you can get 1600\'s on them.

Hey chap
I was running 320ATW on stock turbos nearly 2 years ago so it aint nothing new.
My point was if that is your goal you have no need to buy all those bits and going non seq. gets rid of all those 2nd turbo issues.
you dont need a fuel computer, the power fc is all you need.
You dont need an uprated radator for road use at only 1 bar. Just keep an eye on your water temps if you go for a thick front mount but if they are ok, then job done! I am running 385 atw on stock rad with low water temps in mid summer.
Personall i think you only need an uprated rad if you go on the track for any great period of time. Think about the short bursts of full throttle that you use on the road. The stock rad copes fine and the car runs hotter in stock form that when you throw all the crap away when you go single.
As for fuel rail, if you can get a complete kit that will do the trick, its always easier than making up your own.
Blimey 320,nice. The only problem the goal is always on a sliding scale :p

Eeeeeek, just been chatting to some folk today and i hadnt budgeted for an uprated clutch? Any opinions on this? can i get away with running low boost til i get the dollars to upgrade,? how much do the standard fellows handl?
Not much more than stock power.

a good clutch will be approx 600.00 plus fitting the most important thing you will need to go single are BLOODY DEEP POCKETS :o

lol, yep i think im slowly finding that out!!! but i will not be beaten, even if i have to pimp the girlfriend and sell my stamp collection. :rollin
Picked up the turbo kit today, it is a real beeeeaaut. Cant stop looking at it, :rollin the wastegate is bleeding massive :evillaugh
cool, hope all goes well, what model is it ??
shaun
Quotewhat model is it ??
Well i said i would have itthining it was a trust TD06 25sg but it turns out that it has bigger housings so turbo dynamics said it was actually a TD07. So i have to be happy with that.
Quotecool, hope all goes well
Thanks for that mate, getting it all fitted middle of January.
