Hi :)..
Im after a pair of air intake temperature gauges or digital displays so that i can see exactly whats going on before and after my intercooler..anyone know where i can get these from?
gavin..
PFC commander will give ilet temps along with loads of other info.

I have a commander but ive read that you dont get proper readings due to heat soak from the UIM..
I could just move the temp sensor into the intake elbow but i want to see exactly whats going into my intercooler and whats coming out :)
I have temprature probes before and after my charge cooler, I am using gauges from SPA Link (http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/design/dualgauges.asp)
It is not the cheapest option especially if you decide to include the thermocouple box and probe (X2).
If you just want to monitor on a temporary basis then buy an electrical meter with a temprature probe built in.

Can I ask why you want to know what your IC is doing, surely the important reading is what is going when you are in motion not what heat soak is doing? [as in heat soak happens when your car is not moving?]
I understand your concept of heat soak and the only real concern I can see there is if you intend to drag the car, I think you will find most forms of cooling the charge have been explored and many people have different ideas of what is best.
I think you would agree that the important issue here is what your charge temp is, I would have thought Mazda regarded this when placing the sencer?
I got mine when i ordered my WI kit from cooling mist, heres the link

Exactly!!!...I dont want to have to wait for x amount of miles until im out of traffic so that my temp sensor reads the correct air temp again...i want to know exactly whats happening all of the time!
Sorry but i think mazda put it in the wrong place...why put it in a lump of alloy that obviously gets hot when sat still so the only readings you are getting on the commander are how hot the uim is.. i want to know the air temp not how hot the uim is..

Best answer to that is get yerself a decent charge cooling system, think you will find putting the right bits in place [be it uprated stock IC, FMIC, V mount or charge cooler] you will negate that problem of looking at 2 gauges to decide if you can floor it or not, sheesh dont you think these cars are complicated enough? you end up spending all your driving [enjoyment] time worrying about what your engine is [not] doing  . All I can tell you after 5 + years of driving these wonderfull machines is the stock IC is pants, if you are looking to get the best out of these machines sort the charge cooling system out. HTH
As to the positioning of the inlet temp sender I think that will be the best place seeing as you have this great lump of alloy to increase the charge temp :flamed
Thing is i have a FMIC so thats not an issue..i just think that the stock sensor is to slow to react to the actual airtemp..The gauges that FD3UK posted a link to will show 2 temps at the same time-think im going to order one as thats exactly what im after.. :)

I gotta agree with john here. Dont make the car any worse than it is already.
You really wanna monitor the ACT at the farthest point on the inlet tract. No matter where you put the thermocouple it will suffer with heat soak. In the summer i had a thermocouple in the back of my engine bay and i could see 80 deg C.
Not sure about the power fc but the stock ecu retards the timing when the act hits 60 deg i think.
