.....Mr Carl Hayward. Having fitted my HKS downpipe last week I returned today to have my re-amemiya midpipe and cat back added. But also had the stock twins made non sequential.
The result...... a lovely sounding FD, a big kick at 4000rpm and a very pleased Bulla ! :chat
Many thanks to Carl, Matt and Ian for the work they did. :cheers

Welcome to the nonsequential club mate! :3gears-rh i love it, so much better than stock in my opinion!
No dont let it go to your head! remeber the roads are slippy! :yes
Havent really had time to play with it yet but first impressions are very good.

Keep me posted on your findings with the non-seq setup, I have been thinking about doing this at some point, and I know a few others have too!!
Cheers Rich
Donato, saw your post re non sequential turbo\'s. Have been toying with this idea in my head for ages. Could you tell me the benifits for this setup please :) . Would it give me better response and performance etc...many thanks Leigh.
I have been thinking about this too, also since G@ndy\'s and Donato\'s posts, & hence my thread-- Turbo talk, please keep us posted mate how you get on with it, ive got the HKS dp, Apexi intakes, next to get is the Apexi ecu and a silenced midpipe (who makes one?)then i\'ll be calling Carl in the winter months,
Cheers Bob
Bob- Feed do a lovely silenced mid pipe- see RE:Worx link at the top of the page, mucho dollar though!
Dragon do an own branded one for less dosh!
What with me, you(bob) and Leigh all thinking of this, maybe we should try for a group buy/deal :rollin :rollin

As i new 2 rotary, and twin turbos 4 that matter, can someone explain 2 me what u have 2 do 2 create non sequential turbos and why this is better please, cheers.
Basically non-sequential means that rather than having one turbo spool before the other you actually get both kicking in at the same time, the result you ask ???
Well Donato ran a 12.9 1/4mile @ Rotorstock with i think 329 / 340 bhp :)

Thinking about doing this but dont want to lose driveability..
At the momment i have instant response in anygear..whats it like going non seq? is driveability affected?
gavin :)
Thanks for the positive comments Paul!
Going non sequential does not mean that you lose instant throttle response.
The engine still makes reasonable torque without making boost,it is just that when the boost comes on it does so with a rather nice powerful surge. Also you get better car control as you never experience the dip in power between the two turbo\'s running sequentialy again, and that helps in situations such as wet roads with tasty corners in them, the car becomes much more predictable.

Carl
Thanks for the info Carl!
What sort of cost is involved?? Guess all Vac hose\'s have to be replaced?
Also would the Apexi FC need to be tweaked at all with the conversion done??
Could this be done DIY? If so are there online guides?? hopefully with pics!
:cheers Rich

cheers buddy, how much does this conversion cost tho dude?

but the site appears to be down at the moment. I have all the relevant pages saved so if you need them let me know.
The majority of the vac hoses are removed, making things a lot easier under he bonnet for fault finding.
When i did mine, it was a DIY, i trained as a mechanic years ago so some sort of mechanical knowledge would be usefull. At the same time i had the rebuilt and engine ported by pip and i decatted, removed the secondary butterfly valves, fitted 1300 secondaries, fitted an apex i pfc, FMIC, uprated turbos and various other shiney bits, so couldnt give you a direct comparison, but for all the reasons Carl has already stated, i do prefer the drivbility, especially on track!
It did do a 12.9 at rotorstock, and i have more plans :evillaugh its developing around 350-360 at the flywheel just under 300 at the wheels which is more than enough for my driving abilities :)
Cheers
Donato
Hi Donato, I would very much like to see those pages on non seq Please although i will be getting Carl to do the work for me, as i will need Apexi tuning etc at the same time, i\'m still not sure at what revs the non seq twins start to spool up,would that be at the same revs the first stock turbo spools up?
Cheers Bob
Basically there are two ways of doing this conversion.
One is reasonably inexpensive and the other is quite alot of money.
Both work well, but the more expensive route gains you a bit more power ultimately.
The least expensive route is easily reversible.
We can take either route for you.But if your engine is pretty standard then the lesser expense route is the way to go in my opinion.
Regards
Carl
Mine was the more expensive one, which i did myself so it wasnt expensive :)

.. is the URL you\'re after I guess.
This is someting I have looked into, once the engine is run in and I\'ve got a few time slips I\'ll probably do it to see how it changes the 1/4mile time :cool
Great, Thanks for that link Wedgie, Something else i would like to see is a Dyno chart of a non seq, setup, anyone got one Please?
Cheers Bob
After reading that I\'m thinking its something I don\'t want to tackle on my own! More removing/involved than I first thought! :eek
Could some one please give abit more detail of the two versions \'cheap\' and \'loadsa money\' :rollin
ie- Cost difference, what sort of gains?
Also will the car require a remap/tweak of ECU?????? :xconfused
Cheers Rich
I\'ve been running non seq twins for the last 6 months or so.
As Carl says, its not like the car is dead low down without them working sequentially. But the eventual spool up is a little later I would say. The reasons I went non-sequential were to a) remove the complexity of the turbo control system to minimise maintenance and problems and b) for car control as Carl mentioned above; the delivery of the twins sequentially is NOT ideal for track and thats my red car\'s purpose in life - tooling about and going to the Nurburgring. I want a predicatable and smooth power delivery, not a sudden momentary shove in the back that leaves me in the trees, :rollin
