Great vid, cheers :)

Just finished watching it... why does it always seem, to me anyway that all the "battles" the RX8 enters usually ends up with it losing:( From the track & togue battles in BMI to the drift battles in JDM option and now to the 24hr silverstone battle...

Love the 8s to bits but it is kinda disheartening 2 watch them lose... regulary... suppose on the bright side that when they win just makes me feel all the more happy. Plus i love rooting for the underdog anyway.

Problem with the RX8\'s running at Silverstone was in large part down to a lack of power, corners were ok. The Hondas had more grunt.

ahhh... the ever present problem of no power :(... Maybe that will teach mazda to put more money into developing a turbo for the RX8 :D

This is partly true but the engine does produce 231 BHP so it’s hardly lacking in power.

If you notice the Fifth Gear team passed on a bend rather than the strait so it was keeping up nicely with the others.

Another Stat is the RX8 was only 10MPH (average speed) slower over the whole race than the winning full race spec car

The RX8\'s for this year were done on a fairly tight budget, running stock running gear and stock engines.

Hopefully Mazda UK will allow Guglielmi Motorsport to make a few other changes for the next season! Assuming Guglielmi get the contract next year, which I hope they do. There is more performance to come out of the car yet.

BTW, the telemetry (and the mazda\'s drivers comments) clearly indicated that the Honda was far quicker on the straight.

The Mazdas had a few gearbox gremlins as well, which meant all shifts had to be done very slowly.

Nothing wrong with the handling, just lacking on the long straights

^ So true ! Reminds me a little of the super quick Supra that I passed on some local twisty bits a few day\'s back and I\'m still not revving much over 7 at the mo\'  :cool . Bendy bits good, straighter bits..... ok.

Being a biker at heart, I prefer the bendy bits anyway  :yes  :evillaugh  ;) .
