Post by: tr1cky on November 15, 2005, 01:18:17 PM
Ok guys, need some help with fitting a boost gauge, never done it before, so sorry for any stupid questions!

Got a RE:Amemiya gauge \'n pod holder, steering wheel column mount. Gauge has two wires, one must be earth!? Guess the other is for light?? Can this be tapped into the cig lighter for power?? If not where to go??

Need vacuum pipe and I guess a \'T\' piece to feed boost to gauge- wheres the easiest place to get?? Do I need nything else?

When fitting this were do I need to tap into to take the boost reading?? (some pics would be fantastic for this! but good discription would do :D ). Also whats the best way through the bulk head into the cabin??

Thanks for any help!! :chat

any 12volt supply will be ok for the light, so yes ciggy lighter will be fine.

Other than take my boost quage is electronic so pluming a little differant to yours i think

As for the T peice and vaccume hose any local motor factor shouls have both aprts of halfords somewhere like that.

There should be a black rubber plastic cover on the plenum (drivers side). Attach there.

Feed this pipe from the phlenum through one of the holes on the left side of the engine bay - there should be wires and all sorts there already. literally push onto the top of the phlenum. good luck  :cheers

you can take the lpower for liught off from behind the dimmer switch on the dash... go in through the stereo din panel and on the right you will see a small box this kind of comes out backwards ( there is a catch to let it come out) just scotch clip it int tp there and the gauge will dim with the other lights...

the vacuum pipe should go through the front grommit with the bonnet release or throttle...

good luck

Hi mate

Your best option instead of a t piece is to tap in the phlenum, on the oposite side of the throttle near the drivers side you should see a black rubber nipple take it of and put your pipe here, works for most people.

Cheers
