Title: Best place for Turbo repair??
Post by: G@NDY on November 14, 2005, 08:19:19 PM
I may be buying a turbo kit that needs some TLC (but it is cheap) I have rung around turbo places for quotes to replace the bearings and shaft, and have varying prices from around £250 to £400 from places like Universal Turbos, Turbo Technics and Turbo Dynamics. But i wondered if anyone knows which is bestest :yes  as i dont want to be over charged but i do want a good job :bandit

   Cheers

Heard good things about all 3 actually... used Turbo Tec before and they are quite helpfully and experienced..
Go for an upgrade on your set if you are going down the route of a repair.. They will have various stage upgrades from standard..

As for the prices you have there(250 - 400), I would say thats quite cheap..... unless it\'s for each Turbo.

The Supra Turbos(also twins) were 400 quid each to be rebuilt...
And was if I remembered correctly it was an additional £50 to upgrade to each stage... so the stage 3\'s was an extra £150 per Turbo!
 But was worth it.....  :chat

we are Turbo Tech auth dealers, either send direct to them asking them to look at them on our behalf or get them to me and I\'ll ship them off to them for an estimate

Trex sounds pretty much right with prices and upgrades

Depends on the make of the turbo. They all tend to specialise in specific brands.

Owen Developments in Oxfordshire are the people to talk to about Mitsi turbo\'s.

They used to modify our TD05\'s on the scoob\'s, and have supplied stuff to Prodrive.

nothing but good things to say about Universal Turbos, quality company, granted my experience with them relates to renault 5\'s but still a good company overall
