Title: help wanted
Post by: *Bowsy* on November 13, 2005, 08:49:33 PM
Is there anyone who lives near wetherby/york area?

I ask this as i\'m having probs with my FD and wouldn\'t mind some help in checking the Rx out.

I was thinking of taking it to wgt but the car has trouble running so i would need to hire a transporter or somthing like that.
I just wouldn\'t mind sum1\'s opinion after checking the car out.
I ain\'t the most technical person so thats why i\'m asking.
The only thing i\'ve done so far is give it a once over for cracked hoses and changed the spark plugs.
The more and more i look into the problem it shows signs that it needs a rebuild :(
I\'ve only done overall about 400miles on a 57000mile engine

this is the link to an old thread that was on here a long time ago which as the similar symptoms to me.he ended up getting a rebuid :(

http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3008&page=1&pp=15

I have a blitz BoV,aftermarket exhaust and hks filters and standard ecu,I was using the car for about 2 hours before the problem happened and was driving at about 50 mph and it just became hesitant :(

I have a sound clip of a before and after the prob.
Both clips are from startup on idle but i need sum1 to post them

I am some 50 miles from you, in Manchester. But could maybe come and check it out before I go away on Wed, but from the vids. It does not look good at all.

Also, I assume when you changed the plugs you placed all the leads on correctly?

I will drop you a PM shortly.

How did it start running this way? Were you driving and maybe giving WOT? Or was it stood for a while? Was the car mapped at all here yet?

Might be time for a call to the AA if you\'ve homestart theres no probs if you\'ve only relay arrange to breakdown a few miles from home. As Pips the local expert they should transport it there for you.

i bought the car 2 months ago but its been stood for the same time (needed to sell mi other car)only started  the car up when i had to move it on the drive.

i finally use the car on thurs night, been out in it for around 2 hours of normal drivin as i have to be carfull of the tires as ther not of ther best.
On mi way home i gave it WOT for about 30 seconds eased off as i was behind traffic, was stuck behind traffic for about 10-15 mins at about 50 mph.
Gave it some gas just to keep up with traffic and thats when i had mi prob.
I slowed down to pull over as somthing didn\'t feel right when i pressed the gas and as soon as i took it out of gear it stalled :(

After the second attempt of starting it back up i got it going and slowly drove home but as soon as i let off the gas and took it out of gear it stalled

Might be worth you checking you\'ve not blow the pipe from the MAP sensor. Its mounted on the n/s of the bulkhead small black plastic box about 1inch by 1.5inch it should have a plug for the electrics underneath and also a vac/boost pipe these are prone to poping off and cause no end of problems.

What Kev said is also true. See pic attached.

Sit in your car and fire it up, how does the boost guage go. Stable or fluctuating?

Be good if japscene could make it to you, as I think he is much closer.

Good luck mate.

Gord; yep we need to sort out. Give me a call.

cheers fella :D

I\'ve just sent matt 2 new clips of the car.

One is just of the boost gauge  just after i started her up and the other is one where it shows it stalling.

As ya can see the boost gauge doesn\'t fluctuate too much
