Hi all, went up to Westec in Newport for a Rolling Road day with the SW-CC boys, just to show them what a proper car looks like.... but any way I ended up on the rollers after a blast up the M4, so the car was nice and warm and ready to go! when I arrived there was a Cupra R on the rollers with 3-4 people watching. then people saw mine going in to be run and the pace filled with about 15-20 people!!
anyway the 1st run was and she pushed out 265 at the fly with a slip of the clutch at about 5000! Then on the second run, the second turbo didn\'t kick in so it only put out 190 ish :reallymad
Anyway what I\'m wanting to find out is does the power sound OK, The only engine mods are an ARC twin pannel induction box, dump valve and a cat back 5zigen system.

With the mods, 265 at the fly sounds a little low, do you have an uprated ECU? If not this could probably get you a few more horses, plus improving the reliability of your engine, as the stock ECU might not stretch to fuelling all the modded parts.
I had basically what you have, plus a bigger intercooler and an Apexi ECU and I kicked out 275 rwhp which is about 320 flywheel apparently.
Then again it could have just been a bad run on the rollers....

power sound right. You onlky have 255fwhp as standard.
catback might at 20bhp but you will easily lose about 10bhp with that arc induction kit. All it does is heta soak and rob the engine of power.

Na there are no other mods, everything else is stock: ecu, down pipe, cat etc. :( and the run was done on 97 ron super plus, not optimax which the car prefers!!
But I\'ll be chainging that as soon as I can afford it :chat

When I first got mine on the rollers it was completely stock except an apexi induction kit and pulled 190 something at the wheels and 244 at the fly, so doesn\'t sound too bad.

Just adding my 2p here.
A few observations like,
1) Was that picture taken during a run? (If answer is no ignore Q2)
2) Why is the car not strapped down?
3) Cant see much in the way of a blower in front of the car?
A friend who has a 92 Type R with a CAT back achieved 195 at the wheels iirc.

Well spoted there brett! Pick was taken just befor they strapped her down for the run & my arm was a bit shakey, Hence the blur! This place has got an exturnal fan which blows through 3\' square ducting which was telescopic ( you can just see it above my wing mirror ) brought it out to about 2 feet away from the bumper for the run!
Felt like a tornado running throught he building!!
Car is the same as your mates 92 type R (I think. Late 92 though)

Mmmmmm let me think........ OK, gonna try and do a few mods befor she runs next time though. Looking at doing a custom Y pipe and tubing first though, just to see the difference it makes!!

Did They give you a RWHP reading as this is all that counts really, the other readings are just guestimates and can be well out from car to car.
On the strapping down question there is a local garage near me that never straps cars down on the rollers! I found this disturbing but he claims to never have lost a car from the rollers!!

When i got mine RR tested at WGT mine pulled 225bhp at the wheels. All i had was a HKS induction kit and cat back exhaust. I think that works out at something like 265bhp at the fly. Pip said it what he\'d expect for what was effectively pretty stock.

When will it be? I will have had a few more mods by then, so it would be interesting to see what she gets. Although i will probably know anyway, cos i\'ll have to get her tuned properly, but i\'d certainly be interested!
Probably be looking Feb march time I think! I\'ll put a post up with the dates and how to join in, probably be through SW-CC forum, same as MRC free to join the forum and pay to be a full member! All you needed to do last time was to put your name down on the list of running cars. was suposed to be 40 cars running but only 20 ran in the end so space is no probs!!
