Title: larger injectors needed?
Post by: gmogle on November 13, 2005, 08:26:34 AM
Guys,

Have bought a larger SMIC, the Greddy one.

My question is this....

Will I need bigger injectors because of it ?

I am not looking to up the boost or anything

Cheers,

Gareth

Shouldn\'t be a issue until you up the boost, you say you don\'t want to but how long can you resist?

check the injector duty on your pfc. set to monitor this. go for a drive and give it everything... this will tell you how hard they are having to work to fuel your engine, think you will be ok tho cos scott is stock fuel system...

Lol Kev-yorks, I am planning on getting Water injection as well so would be nicely setup to raise the boost....wont say never then.

Cheers Ollie, I spoke to Scott who also said the same. It was just that I remembered reading a thread on here and it was mentioned that the injector duty would hit 100% with the Greddy SMIC. Have the commander so I can check it.

Hope yours is going well ?

Cheers,
Gareth

its making slow progress... just fixed the wideband lamda sensor so i can start tuning it soon, just need water injection so i can raise the boost! tuning is gonna be tricky cos of the setup. but fingers crossed i would like 200hp, but we shall see. im gonna get a 2 stage W.I kit from the states, if you want one too maybe a share postage jobbie? just a thought. i got to some how fit a BOV to stop the compressor stalling 1st tho! lol, gonna use a stock fd one as i dont want the noise. its getting progressivly faster tho.

Hadnt planned on doing that till next year mate. insurance, tax etc this month and the dreaded Christmas.....suggested to Em that she might like Water Injection for her present....nuff said !!!

Sounds like good progress though Mate,
