Post by: Bobfish on November 10, 2005, 06:38:44 PM
Dont you just hate ebay?

Sleek headlight kit, £300
Stainless Back box, £130
Wheels, £150
Logging on to ebay and seeing a single turbo kit going for £300, no bids, 16m to go...PRICELESS!

By the middle of next week, i will have in my possession:

6 brand new Pillow Ball bushings
Dragon performance stainless strength bar with radiator mounts
performance brake pads
new stainless exhaust
sleek headlight kit
set of standard wheels
Large single turbo
external wastegate
new BOV
rebuild kit, including new housings and used end plates, plus new oil pump, chain, and eccentric shaft

Plan is to pull the motor, install the new bushings, stainless strength bar, brake pads, exhaust, headlights, rebuild motor, respray the bay, reinstall motor.

Then, use the old end plates etc to fab up a manifold for the single turbo, and by that time hopefully i would have paid off my credit cards, then i can afford my Rays wheels that i have on order, buy a PFC and serious power here we come!!!

thats fair enough mate, i know what ebay is like but i figured it was too good to pass up, just incase it is a goodun.  If its not, ill just flog it again haha.  Didnt really have time to ask you lot...

In any case, at least itll help me in fabbing up a manifold for a proper turbo.

not sure what brand of lights they are mate, but i was expecting to get them and for them to be rubbish quality, but they are actually quite good; come with all wiring with proper mazda connectors on them, the looms are all wrapped in that plastic sheathing stuff blah blah they look good.

I think the geezer makes the lights, as he had two sets available when i mailed him to see if he would end early. I got mine for 300, this set went for 385 though (This is the second set he had)

get in touch with him, see if he has any more..

Just manually adjust them to hit the road correctly and might be ok ?

(i think?? i read something somewhere??)
you may well find that you cant fit hid\'s, due to the material theyre made from, due to heat.

i dont mean HID bulbs, they will melt the lamps - i mean HID lamps. The HID lamp car kits you get are very expensive because they are fitted for the car. I can just buy a set of generic HID lamps to work off 12v and make them fit, will be much cheaper than a kit specifically for a car.  I just need to get the right size face really, i can fabricate up the rest, even if it means making my own adjusters.
