Title: Got My Angel eye conversion kit
Post by: Gman on November 03, 2005, 08:36:03 PM
Came in the post today - no instructions though :reallymad  Although i wouldn\'t attempt to do this myself.

Anyway i was looking at them most of the afternoon with them sitting on my desk and now i am not too sure if they will look that good.

Imagine the car with black twin headlights similar to the nemisis headlight conversion, ummmmmm may have to try one and see what it looks like.

Are they easy to fit and adjust?  Don\'t want to be blinding anyone!

If we\'re talking about the Ebay lights here then I found both fitting and adjusting simple enough.

Altough the adjustment is behind/underneath the cover so it\'s best not to bolt it down until they\'re pointing the right way.

I haven\'t finished setting mine up yet, but initially I just lined them up by eye.  With an even gap all the way around the lens and the cover so then should be pointing in a straight line.

These lights don\'t have a \'kick up\' hence why they fit both left and right hand drive.  All you need to worry about is if they\'re not pointing too high, which I\'ve confirmed at night by driving behind the wifes MX5 and not blinding her!

Mine came with the lenses fitted into the covers, but they were only thrown together.  Best to refit them with some nice stainless steel washers behind the springs to stop them getting stuck in the mounting holes.

All in all I like them.  Especially painted.  I tried the black look for a week, but everyone who saw them agreed that painting them would be better.  Looks more like standard equipment now.

Probably before you\'re time on FDUK, G. I think he\'s still lurking looking to get another next year. I vageuly recall he dinged a front wing or some thing whilst in Poland or Hundary and then sold it on to one of the RX7 company\'s who then flogged it on it Dean up north I guess...

I\'m going by the reg, I have a pic of it with mine and max\'s a couple of years back some where I tihnk - unless the reg is slightly different. But Chaz\' had the MS01s too. Does it have the later rear lights?

I don\'t think it has the later rear lights and it had standard wheels on it when Dean bought it, i have some old paperwork so i will have a look.

I have a set on mine too, my MOT is due soon and I\'m a bit concerned about weather they will pass or not, apparently people have had issues MOTing them because there is no \'proper\' dip.

Do they have any kind of dip? I am hoping they are brighter than my current lights as being able to see at night is a huge advantage.

Yes they do have a kind of dip, it just switches to one filament instead of two so which ever is the dip filament you choose inside or outside, you adjust that one for dip and the other for main beam.
