Any know how you go about registering a car on motor trade insurance that dosnt say the exact car or details...
Im tying to start a small import business and i have motor trade insurance which covers any car that i own, registered or not.. but to register a car from the dvla they say you need to have the exact car details on a single certificate to tax the damm thing..
How do the garages register there cars? thought that was the whole point of trade insurance.. checked b4 i took it and they said its ok to use this, now they say it aint :{{ im lost guys, payed 700 quid for this and its useless..
I\'ve never had any problems taxing mine on a trade policy & the cert says "any vehicle owned or driven by me"
Was on the fone to 4 differant people today at the dvla lol and each one says something differant... last one says that if i take the ploicy down to my local dvla centre then they will check it and see if im able to use it, just means all the cars will be registered in my name, which dosnt bother me..
are you on about taxing a registered car or taxing and registering a imported car first time..?
for taxing registered vechicles, althou when I bought my last thru imports thur newera, I had to send them my ins cert I asume this was for registering & taxing
:) Hi Gerry , Just wondered who you are with for your motor trade insurance. I am forever changing my cars or have a habit of having 3 or 4 at a time so it is really expensive to insure each one individually. Like for instance i have a Rx7 , an Impreza, and a Gto at the moment so its costing me a fortune.
With your policy can you drive any car you want and are they fully comp ?
Cheers - Graeme
you shouldn\'t have a problem with this, i have registered loads of cars this year at the DVLA and they haven\'t asked me to provide insurance cert for each individual car
Hi Graeme
I used tradex originally because it was the cheapest qoute i could get just for my rx, but like you I now have quite a few. Yes I can drive any car & full comp
Do you have the number for Tradex Jerry so i can give them a try. :burnout
If you dont mind me asking what sort of prices are you paying ?
Cheers - Graeme
