Title: Using Apexi PFC to Control Fans....How ???
Post by: Red and Single on October 27, 2005, 09:31:26 AM
Hi Guys  :wave

It\'s been mentioned over the last couple of days that you can use the Apexi ECU to controll the fans.  :yes

I\'d love to be able to do this as at the moment I\'m driving round everywhere with my Air Con on to keep temps under controll. I\'d love to be able to tell them to cut in and out at predetermined temps :yes

Can anyone help with how to do this please ??  :wiggle

I have an Apexi PFC and Commander installed ready to go :chat

Thanks in advance.... :chat

You need access to datalogit software,it is only possible to change fan temps via laptop and datalogit. It can not be done via the commander.

Right, done a little research, obviously the software alone is of no use to me as it comes with several cables and conversion boxes etc etc. :(

Back to square one then :spank

Snap! I spotted this too, think it was the thread about over-heating engines. So I got into my car last night and got the commander out to change the setting - bugger me could I find it?!

At least now I know why I couldn\'t find the setting.

Are local tuners likely to have a datalogit/FC box? I have no idea where to go to get this done.

Cheers
Jon

I think all the Tuners/Vendors on this Board use datalogit/FC box.
Dont know who is closest to you Jon.

I think Max who tunes down at ReWorx may have proper Commander Pro Software which is even better then datalogit

Essex needs a rotary tuner. I live on the coast in Essex and therefore all the tuners on the board are 200+ miles from me   :(

Blitzboy, you mention you have a Datalogit... is it like a univeral tool that perhaps a Cosworth tuner might have/use, or is the Datalogit specific to RX7\'s?

Cheers

No its specific to Jap cars with the Apexi ECU fitted.
You can buy the Datalogit from this link

Don\'t know if this is any use to you.  Just read this on another thread.  It\'s a HKS fan controller.

Although if someone can adjust the PFC for you then it wont cost ££\'s

Worst come to worst, get a Pivot Fan Controller. You can set the desire temp for the fan to kick in...
