Title: Standard Ride Height
Post by: Rich Cheung on October 25, 2005, 03:04:58 PM
Does anyone know what the standard ride height of an FD3 is ?
i.e measurement from centre of the wheel to the arch

Mine is stupid low and I\'ve just had a new bumper fitted meaning even less clearance. I\'m now having problems with small potholes on A-roads

So I want to find how much lower than standard I am and then look at getting the best deal on some other setup.

Cheers,
Rich  :)

My \'97 RS on standard 17" Mazda wheels has the following ride heights.
All measured on the front to rear body seam joint, on a driveway, not a surface plate!!
Front measured in line with the front wing lower front bolt:

OS front 150mm
NS Front 140mm
OS Rear 160mm
NS Rear 145mm.

Kind of suprising really. I\'d expect the offside to be lower due the the (over)weight of the driver!!

I don\'t know if it\'s lowered. I think it looks it, but I haven\'t grounded it on speed bumps taken at a reasonable speed yet.

Cheers chap. So you don\'t know if they are original springs or aftermarket ?
Have you got any up close pics / side views ?

It\'s looking more likely I\'m gonna have to put original springs back on for now. Wish I could afford the group buy thats happening but must resist for now.
