After months and months of hard work my car is finally coming together. Big thanks to JayDee for all his hard work and expertise. :god
Hopefully we\'ll be back on the road in the next couple of weeks! :cheers
Will post up some more pics once complete :wave
Wow, looks very simple without all the turbo gumph :)
Can you tell us what you\'ve done to the engine or are you keeping it hush hush for now :) I take it the air filter will now come straight off the elbow now, you going to put it where the SMIC would have been?
Well, it\'s had a full rebuild with new rotor housings and a bit of porting for good measure!! :cool
Got to get some pipes made up for my FMIC and fit my nice single turbo then i\'m ready to go. Air filter will bolt directly on to turbo.
No turbo!?!?!? :xconfused
Are you going to run it without as N/A
Dan!!
Sorry............just read your reply as i was posting mine :spank
My turbo will take up all the room on the left! :rollin
lol, sorry mistook your thread! thought you meant you were making a n/a fd :D

Yea, exactly what i thought :D
lol, sorry mistook your thread! thought you meant you were making a n/a fd
would need a couple more rotors if it was n/a!!
Nice cleeeeeeaN ENGINE. MATE!
I remember seeing this one at Jays (at least I think it was your one) nicely polished! You\'ll have fun keeping it clean too eh lol!! ;)
Very nice Dre,
do you know which turbo you are getting yet ? or is this a secret :D
Ben - my car is still at Jays. Just waiting for my manifold to be modified before it goes back on the car. Shouldn\'t be too much effort keeping it clean if i clean it regularly.
gsb876 - I have got the R85 kit from KG parts. Took me long enough to get it (5 months) and now Keith tells me they have stopped producing the kit cos it was taking them too long to meet customer\'s orders. I have some pics of the turbo that i can post. :cool
well nice Dre ... it has taken you ages to get that turbo . i remember talking to you at ace cafe about it .
Engine does look well nice :D
i thought you were going for an N/A FD then, i was about to say you mad lol , then i read on lol.

Thats what i was thinking! :rollin
Nice clean engine bay there mate. Be cool once you get all your other polished bits in there :)
Adam
Hopefully the car will be ready over the weekend if all goes to plan, then it\'ll be 1000 miles to run it in before i can get it mapped and have some fun with it!! :burnout
Weather permitting ofcourse :3gears-rh
You can still have fun in the wet! Just gotta be ready for some opposite lock!
Whereabouts are you in Essex? Should meet up, maybe I\'ll bump into you at Jays at some point.
I\'m near Romford. Yeah we\'ll have to meet up once I\'m up and running. :wave
Opposite lock sounds like fun as long as the roads are clear!! :burnout
When\'s the next Essex meet??
looking good there mate! polished all and clean and all that hhhuummm so we are getting ready for some :burnout action??? :god
Andreas! give us ring when its all done man and will be good to have a look and hear her with that bridge ported engine...i can jus imagine how loud that thing is going to be..
Jay\'s another master piece put together and trust me it will worth the wait..but i think its your turbo suppliers are the one to be blammed for that...no???
Laeeq - I\'ll give you a call when it\'s done. Can\'t wait to hear what it sounds like on full boost at max rpm\'s!! :flamed I\'m sure it\'ll be well worth the wait.
Yeah it was the turbo supplier that caused me all the bother. Jay was waiting on me!!!
are those pulleys just painted or are they anodised..they look well nice
What rpm idle are you expecting with your bridge? As my 13bre j bridge idles at 1900-2000rpm and won\'t go any lower. Very loud aswell- 103db at idle and 122db at 4000rpm with a silenced midpipe.
I bought a pulley kit and then just sprayed the others to match.
Mine is a half bridge so should idle ok. I\'ll let you know once its started. Can you do any tracks days with your car being so loud?!?
Polished FMIC :cool

No i don\'t think i can with it this loud. Mine is also a half bridge but the bridge goes all the way in to the outer water seal track requiring a lot of water passage modification.
Mine is not too close to the water seal.
What turbo are you running??
Just about to receive a gt42r 102mm compressor with a t6 1.15ar exhaust housing. I am running the engine in with my gt35r at present which spins up like stock twins with the bridge.
Nice :D
GT42 should go well. You\'ll have to let me know how it runs once its run in and mapped. How much boost you intending on running??
I\'ve got this turbo for mine, same size hot side as yours :cheers
R85 is a nice turbo by what i\'ve seen so far :yes I will run up to 17-18psi on the street with water injection and maybe 25psi on race fuel. What power/boost are you aiming for with your setup?
Not sure yet but would like to try and run 25psi for high boost setting either with WI or methanol (for the drag strip). Not sure what my low boost setting will be but it\'ll be for the street so don\'t wanna go too mad. We\'ll see what 15psi feels like and take it from there.
Thats the biggest prob with the tracks in the UK, all these noise limits! All we have let is the drag strip and the street!
QuoteWI or methanol
Heard best results are normally a 50/50 mix of the 2, havent tried methanol on is own but theres a definate improvement when running a mix compared to just water :)
