Title: Just when things were looking good
Post by: D3S on October 23, 2005, 07:57:48 PM
Damn after pulling all the vac hoses of replacing them, getting hard pipes, new plugs, leads, full out service the rex is running sweet as and soo much quicker than when i first had it but now...the clutch is brown bread.

I am really not sure what to go for, i refuse to spend a fortune on a clutch, like the HKS item or Excedy so i am look at the SPEC 4 puck stage three from the RX7 Store, they run it on their 500 bhp demo car so thats a pretty good sale point, anyone had any exsperiance with these?

Cheers

I\'ll Second that - have a centre force dual friction clutch in my T88 easily handles the power and isn\'t heavy at all.

Got mine from Clive at Shy Auto\'s give him a call reasonable price too  :D

Well i finally got the clutch on the FD, it was a 6 puck SPEC clutch. What can i say its awesome just puts the power to the ground so well. Bit of a nightmare driving around town, i sound like a barry boy when giving it a few RPM so i dont stall it lol

You can just drop the clutch now and no slip what so ever, also great for clutch kicks lol.

Early days yet but defo recomend it.

Talking to Geff @ re:worx a while back and he was reccomending the Extreme clutch.  quoted a decent price fitted too.  Should be good for most power, and I think it\'s what is/was in Stripey.

Well the clutch for the RX7 Store was $450 but then i had to get a new flywheel (well 2nd hand...Thanks Jimmy\'s) as my old one was shot, loads of cracks etc.

So it was around 600 all in not bad be less if i didnt get the fly and thats a clutch that can hold 550 ft lb or torque :)
