Title: Which SMIC
Post by: gmogle on October 22, 2005, 11:51:40 PM
Guys,

Looking to get an uprated SMIC. After reading on the American rx7 forum site they say the Blitz and Greddy are the best but arent made anymore.

Any of you know where I can get one of these and roughly how much are we talking. See there are a couple on fleabay in the US and a nice Reamemiya one in Japan but would rather buy locally.

Saw the price of a new WGT SMIC and this would be too much.

Not after creating a drag car / track car etc only planning on modding the i/c then getting WI to help with temps.

If you guys can recommend any other SMICs then it would be cool.

Cheers,

Gareth

Not sure about which SMIC, but as your planning on WI you could always get that first and see how that goes, might even decide you dont need a new intercooler :)
Very happy with the results im getting on a stock intercooler, keeps the temps nice and low.

The stock IC will limit the amounts of boost you can run due to its plastic end tanks.
The trust unit is spose to be good. ARC do a all alu version of the stock unit as well. Try an ebay one if you get no joy but there must be someone on here who has one kicking about.............................

i got one second hand, made by rotechniks i was told. About 20-30% bigger volume than stock, all alloy construction. Bolt in with no problems.
