Post by: g11ary on October 21, 2005, 06:17:32 PM
Had a guant down to carls today to collect my RX4.
Carl seems to think its the only one in UK thats was standard with 13b 5 speed box. Needs some TLC, a project for later. Some piccys before she goes away for winter.

WOW !  Are those stripes standard? The ones along the bottom of the door look very similar to an RX-2 model we got in South Africa, designated "Capella RS"

Would like to find out more about her, if she is that rare then I think she will have to stay stock, or maybe stock apart fron the engine, maybe a bridgeport sleeper.

G11ary you could turn it into something like this if it isnt rare as rocking horse poo....... :cool. The performer wheels suit the RX4 so well I reckon.

Cool car.

Must say the 4 is really growing on me.  Had a good look round Clive\'s white stunner at the last Dartford meet and they really do look good.  Standard or all blinged out.  Sleeper or muscle car.  Very nice.

Wouldn\'t mind a nosey at it next time I\'m fixing you \'puters Gary!

Gary!

From the looks of it - it is a Series 2 RX-4 (around 1975 I think).  If you want to know more about the model, the chassis number will tell you more.

Leave her standard! there aren\'t many original condition ones around the world!

Good links on //www.ausrotary.com - search for rx4 and original, etc. etc.

Well I did tell you..........LOL!
It is a reasonably rare 5 speed 13b RX4 with the early front nose and ornate rear. Most of the models with the fancy body work were 12a\'s,the 13b did not stay in this form for long but ended very plain and boring with a slab front and rear.
This model car was the very first to have the 13b engine and the 5 speed box by Mazda.Basically the engines dimensions and rotor width, radius, eccentricty are all the same as the current RX8 engine.
Regards
Carl
