Title: Mazdaspeed clutch question
Post by: Jono FD3 on October 19, 2005, 11:45:53 AM
I\'m looking at a 2nd hand Mazdaspeed clutch (OS Giken `Pull Type` Twin-Plate Clutch Kit) , and was wondering what the thickness of the clutch plates should be? From the pics I\'ve got both plates have a total of 3mm thickness on all 6 pads including the steel section. Does this sound OK or is it coming to the end of it\'s life??

Thanks in advance
Jono

Hi Jono,

Sounds about the right thickness, they  never never normaly wear down the same on each side of the plates so if they are all the same thickness your S/H clutch will be an O/K buy.

BTW not meaning to put you off but beware an OS Giken rebuild kit is £500

Hope this helps.
