Does anyone using Power fc for their FCs? cos i m thinkin of getting one for my jap spec fc as the car is underpowerd now......any one???thanks
Sam
Antniuk uses the PFC in his T2...
Don\'t know if thats of much help as his car is still quite slowwwwwwww.. :p
mines still faster than yours at the moment and i dont have a turbo!
Power FC works really well on the TII (384 bhp atw), speak to Geff at reworx, he is happy to do the conversion again. Buying a PFC plus a commander, plus the conversion plus mapping still works out cheaper than buying and fitting a microturd!
i got one in mine after three weekends of wireing. :yes
one thing you must learn about about T2REW, is that if it aint expensive and a pain in the arse to fit, he just aint interested!
as i have said to trex, if its hard to sort out ,its that much sweeter when its finished. :guinness
and as you know antnicuk, you get what you pay for :yes
yep......... 384 rwhp........
true true :god
but in hindsight would rather 384 for two days or 315 for much much longer :rollin
what was that about soap operas antnicuk! lol!
theres no pfc thats like a straight swap with the original ecu? bah what a mission that would be to fit!!!
a picture speaks a thousand words
antincuk
so how much roughly u paid for the power fc includes fitting mappin all in??
I think geff wants about 150 to convert your loom depending on what sensors you get yourself, this is if you send him the loom, the pfc is then a simple plug in job, the loom is quite easy to remove and put back, and at the same time you can remove your air flow meter, all your solanoids etc. Mapping varies with who you goto, Reworx charge 300 for the initial map regardless of how long it takes but if you do any futher mods later on, you just pay for mapping by the hour. If you buy the PFC from them they give you a discount for the mapping i think, but you will have to check with them. I did all the removal and refitting so i dont know what they would charge for this, but if you got a microtec, you have to make the loom up yourself, or pay someone to do it.

315 at the HUBS! :cheers
I feel you may have forgotten some vital facts so i will remind you cos i\'m nice like that!, I bought my car in March, by August, it was mapped to 342 BHP ATW, now remind me how long you have had your car, over 3 years i believe, but its only been on the road 6 months?, i do feel that as a percentage, i have had more use from mine :spank
i\'ll run for the hills now cos you is much bigger than i is :god :god
antincuk...but i think u can buy the power engineering power fc along with the loom so u can just plug and play the FC with couples wires need doing to replace the AFM?
There IS an PFC made for the FC3S, go to Ebay and look for a company called \'RHDjapan\' he quite often has them for sale. They work out at about £600 I think. They are 2nd hand though.
yes you can buy the complete kit, but as brett says, i bought brand new and had the reassurance that if i had a problem, re worx would sort it out. worked out about the 600 pound mark. Plus mapping.
By the way, you throw the AFM away, just stick an air filter on the front of your turbo.
Did someone say Microtech??? You don\'t have to make up the loom (I know this because I did it! took ages and now Tim is sorting out the appalling mapping job I did, but hey ho!) it comes with loom, you have to then splice the power cables into the loom supplied but otherwise it is theoretically a straight swap.
i thought you had to put all the plugs on the MT loom that go to your existing sensors?,

well all the sensors you are going to use, which are only about 4, all you have to do is solder the sensor plugs to the MT loom takes all of 5 mins!
Ant,
You never used Microtech? You sure diss it like you have!!
John
Hi John,
welcome back, if you call comparing the price between the microtec and the PFC (pfc is cheaper) or mentioning that you have to make up a loom with your stock sensors (which you do although wires are supplied) \'Dissing\' the microtec, then yes i am, but i dont need to own one to know these facts. I\'ll diss a little more as well by saying trying to order one if someone doesnt have it in stock, be prepared for a long wait.... and that is talking from experience, mine and others.
Oh, by the way, i have a LTX12 on the supercharged 20B FD...... so i kind of own one!
Thats great, most have there own preferences, some are just lead. The Apexi is great, easy to fit but not as user friendly as the MT.
John
The Apexi and Microturd have there limits. This will be because they are cheap ecu\'s the more you pay the better they get. But they work for most off our needs. Also they are simple to fit. Try a motec thats fun. An ecu that hasn\'t been talked about for a while is Haltec, then agin you have autronic. What it comes down to in the end is price and ease off fitting. For the FC the apexi or Microturd are even on those scores, Apart from getting them as Ant said earlier

I think \'MOST\' are....
I admire those who can tune either ecu, i cant and to be honest, having done tuning on the road, i cant risk it any more, its more than my jobs worth, (those of you who know me will know why), so i am quite happy to take it to a rolling road at the moment, although if my circumstances change, then i would like to learn how to tune it. Although even tuning on someone elses rolling road is gonna cost you a fair bit. There are obviously a few that are friendly with people who have rollers which makes it easier. Once mine is tuned on the rollers, i have had no desire to fiddle with the tuning at all. It has run really well each time and i have not had the need to change it. The other thing is with the speed of most of our cars, you could modify the tune on the road and wouldnt have a clue if it made it go any faster or not.
One more tiny point...
Apexi does not provide a new loom. Not too bad you might think, but on cars such as ours which produce alot of heat plus the age, engine looms get very brittle. A replacement is only a good thing.
