Title: Heater controles??
Post by: Jono FD3 on October 16, 2005, 05:06:15 PM
Something wierd is going on with my heater system!! for some reason when I put the heaters on to the screen I get warm feet, and when I want warm feet I get a demisted screen!!!! Also when its set to hot and I put it to blow through the vents above the stereo it just blows cold air, but if you move it to the screen it blows hot again!!!

Any sujestions, or have I got a gremlin in my heaters???

Cheers,
Jono

Mine is the same, did a search, and its quite a common problem.
Stripped the dash, cleaned all the contacts, still dont work right, i did read some where its may have summit to do with fitting a PFC, not sure on thaat one tho.

I have just learned to live with it, 99% of the time its set to blow at the windscreen anyway, and RX7\'s get so hot in the cabin the windows open most of the time.

That was my thought aswell: Just live with it!!
Nothing to do with a PFC being fitted, As I dont have one!!!

You are lucky, mine only points at your feet so if the window figs up I have to stick air con on full and freeze.

Does your motor run when you move the position switch?
This could be your fault with the heaters!
There are 2 electric motors on the heater matrix to controle the direction. if you disconect the arm on driver side you can position the heater to the screen and lock it manualy! the motor is a grey box about 2" x 1" screwd to the matrix by 3 philips heads (behind the fag lighter) Save you getting cold feet!!
