It\'s been a long haul that started in March but at last my car is now completed!
All done by Ross @ Dragon it is now modded as follows:
Engine Rebuild
Apexi Induction Kit
Dragon Unsilenced De-cat Mid Pipe
Dragon Underdrive Pulley Kit
Bosch 044 fuel pump
Dragon V Mount
850cc Injectors and Fuel Rail
FSE Fuel Pressure Regulator
Crane Cams Ignition Amp
Apxei ECU
Racing Beat Back Box
Wide Downpipe
I\'m off to drive it for a while. :3gears-rh
The work Ross has done on the car has been excellent - the workmanship is top drawer, everything is neat and precise and coming from a long line of engineers that\'s always pleasing to see. Cheers Ross!
Next year it gets a respray and the year after maybe a re-modelled interior - we\'ll have to see!
All the best

Looking good :) :yes :yes
What sort of power you putting out??
Any chance of some more V mount pics??
Rich
Cheers Rich,
Not sure on the power - Ross maps on a runway rather than a rolling road but it feels quick. If I were to guess (always dangerous) I\'d say around 360 to 380 FWHP.
If the wife ever brings it back (she\'s out thrashing it around the Derbyshire countryside somewhere) I\'ll get a couple more pics of the V Mount...
Cheers

OMG, it must be love! :rollin :rollin
Some close up pics would be great, out of intrest how much did the V mount cost?? As it looks like being my next mod, but dont know which to go for yet.
Rich
She has returned...
Must be love - she\'s actually bloody quick around the lanes - certainly not a deal slower if at all than me!
THe dragon on the intercooler is particularly smart and Gurj, your\'s would be the one that got featured in Jap Performance wouldn\'t it... it would be good to see it in the metal. Did Ross do the paintwork on it or did you have that done somewhere else...
Anyway some more pics - one from underneath, one from the side and gratuitous car shot...
Cheers

Yep the purple one in Jap performance,
The purple was already the colour scheme from Japan although the front nose was re-sprayed by Ross.
Will post details for the next midlands meet held in Derby, keep your eye out in the meets section this coming week once confirmed. If you wanna pop down for a chat anyhow no probs let me know ?
In Stenson Fields :)

Very nice looking car matey, where abouts in the rutland do you live, tis a loverly place with a great big pond!! i work in cottesmore if you ever fancy meeting sometime, wouldnt mind having a sneaky peak at that v mount, looks sweet :wave
Looks v.nice mate,
take from the photo\'s the intercooler and rad are seperate??
Havn\'t Dragon made one where they are joined and metal plate to channel air into rad and intercooler?? Please correct me if im wrong :wave
Rich
The V mount is joined at the back- I tried to get a pic from the back where you can see it but it didn\'t come out well enough...
I\'ve moved from Rutland (used to live at Wymondham just up the road from Cottesmore) and live in a village near Castle Donington now - I need to update the profile - but it is lovely around Rutland with some good driving roads.
I\'ll check out the site and come along to the next Mids meet it\'ll be good to meet up with a few rotary minded souls!

Oh yes - the V Mount was 950 squids...

Is that with VAT??
What\'s included in the kit- intercooler, rad, piping, mountings?? Is it just a straight bolt on job?
:wave Rich

To be honest I got a whole bunch of other stuff done at the same time so I can\'t be 100%. It\'s 950 plus VAT and I believe that\'s for the intercooler, radiator and mountings - but the silicone piping didn\'t come as part of the kit as he had to wait for that to come in after the main bit arrived but it\'s not itemised seperately on the bill so it may be included in the price.
I know Ross can supply mail order so if you\'re interested it would be worth giving him a call. It\'s mighty good value for a V-Mount.
There\'s a thread either on here or on FDUK by Ross about the prototype version of this kit - could be worth a search...

Yeah, have seen the other thread- looks like a slightly different set-up to yours though  .
Thanks for the info ;)
Does indeed look good value, especially when you look at the cost of a Knight Sports :eek
Cheers Rich
The thread\'s on here - here\'s a link

If it doesn\'t work the thread is called Dragon Circuit Car...
I see what you mean about the joining at the sides. Mine is joined at the back but not at the side like the one on the circuit car.
However, no joining at the side means I can get plenty of cool air into my filters - the whole set up is less restrictive on airflow into the engine bay

DC,
Was thinking the other week that I hadn\'t seen your car about at all this summer. I have to drive through Wymondham everyday on way to work in Peterborough as well. So how come you had to have a rebuild? That was pretty unlucky, it felt strong when you took me out in it but guess you just can\'t tell with these.
Mine\'s hardly been out this year, I bought a house in Asfordby and it\'s crippling me financially at the minute! It has got a boost problem like I suspected, only getting half boost on both turbo so putting out a miserable 170+BHP :(
Polished the car yesterday and mine really needs a decent respray next year as well but will have to get saving as need to get the boost prob looked at as well!
Cheers
Gareth
Are you using an undertray? Any problems with debri getting into the fans if not. Are the fans slim line from Ross.
Nice spec all round.

The previous rebuild was a pretty poor job to be honest and certainly didn\'t stand the test of time. I started to get the symptoms of an engine on the way out and decided to get the work done before it actually went pop.
170 bhp sounds pretty low - have you had the problem investigated by a specialist - it could be something simple like a split hose or something...
Hope you get it sorted and ack running properly soon!

Keith,
not a clue - I\'ll have to investigate underneath now though!
I\'m not sure that there is an undertray on it but I\'ve had no probs on the fan front yet - early days though.
I need to give Ross a call in the next few days to report how it\'s going so I\'ll ask him.
I\'m happy with the spec - I could go single turbo with this set up but it\'s plenty quick enough so I\'m going to sort the body work out next...
