Hi Guys,
Any recommendations where the best/cheapest place to get hold of the tin foil type stuff to wrap around hoses to keep heat away from my air filter ?
Sorry for the bad description.
Cheers,
Rich
Tin foil, Tesco\'s do a good range mate ;)
if not try these guys...

Its bloody expensive at that website matey.
Thought I was being stupid thinking of using kitchen foil. If your not pulling my leg then a trip to Tesco\'s it is then.

Use conventional kitchen foil, does the trick :)

You can get heat reflective material that goes behind radiators at most B&Q type stores that\'s cheap, however, I have no idea how effective this stuff is or safe?
I would also consider whether wrapping a pipe that may require some heat exchange (???) with the environment is good for the system or placing further stress along the line. I have no idea if this matters or not but I (me) would certainly get some advice before wrapping everything. Have you consider just using a heat shield around what it is you want to stay cool?
Dont know if this helps but somethings to think about.
Regards
Jon
Never really looked at the price.. :eek :D
Cheers for the input guys.
I really just want to wrap the water pipes below me Apexi filters as they almost touch and have started to melt the plastic on the filters.
I\'ll give it a go and see if it helps.
Cheers,
Rich
I have on my web site heat wrap for exhausts and a fixing wire, in 9 different options
http://www.rotaryart.uk.com/acatalog/Misc_Parts.html
I have not got round to the heat wrap that goes around pipes, but it comes in meter square sheets, well its a roll thats a meter wide and I cut it in meter lenghts. £20 per m2 plus vat and shipping.
If I understand your concern, you\'re melting the air filters with the water hoses? If they\'re not touching, I\'d be amazed if it\'s the water hose that\'s causing the problem. The radiated heat from a rubber pipe at even 100C isn\'t very much, I really doubt tin foil would help. Is it actually melting, or fretting? I think you\'d probably better off with some kind of insulation mat, a bit like a little pad of oven glove, which would also help stop any fretting.
