Has anyone have any ideas the car is booked in with Ross on the 14 November for a FMIC, radatior, air pump removal, battery into the boot and power FC and mapping but I was wondering if anyone else can think of anything else that would be worth going on to the car while it is there.
Before anyone says I can not afford a single turbo or new wheels,
I may have another couple of hundred that I could come up with, I was thinking a AST??
Any ideas are really appreciated thanks guys
AST is a must, for about £100 get it done.
a while bk i got my rad changed and decided to get a AST aswell, more of a safety thing, odviously no perforamcne benefit, i think the standard plastic AST is prone 2 splitting so is good 2 replace it jsut incase. What other mods u already have??? air filter? its good 2 get good air induction aswell, heat shielding, etc, Ross has a few technques for improving air induction. I took my air box out and put in a GReedy insuction kit and then found that the car seemed to get hotter, when i was down at Dragon ross heat wrapped the hoses that go under the filters and seems to hav made a difference. thinking of getting a heat shield aswell sometime.
If you are getting a new rad and ast it would be advisable to get it all plumbed together with silicon hose in a colour of your choice... :cool
Ok bone question, what does the AST do? I know the plastic ones are prone to spliting but what is its funtion?
Donato like the idea of colour codeing with the silicon hoses.
Cheers fellas
Air
Seperation
Tank
does exactly what it says on the tin ;)
the less air in the water the more efficient the cooling...simple as that as far as i know..
I have nice blue hoses in mine. :)
why don\'t you go for an uprated fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator so that you can safely run more boost and take advantage of the FMIC.
Remove the air con whilst everything is out :) It blocks your radiator or just relocate it so its not in front of the radiator. Probably cost a couple of hours labour to do.
while the car is in ... use the £200 to hire a lapdanceer for a few hours and get jiggy !
best way to spend the money :D
or
to be boring .. fuel pump :D
Fuel pump and intectors or water spray for the fmic?
cheers for the ideas, had not thought of the fuel pump which would be nice, think water injection will be a little over buget,
lapdances now there is a thought :wiggle
Quotethink water injection will be a little over buget
Might be tight but for a simple boost activated set-up couple of hundred should be enough (probably not aquamist tho as their pumps are fairly high priced...very good tho). Isnt it Ross that sells the Power Delvelopments (or similar) systems?remember seeing some kits on ebay and im sure they were advertising them as \'the ones used on dragons car\', they were about £200 i think.
But I can see your dilemma (mmmmm, lapdances!) :D
ohh ast would be good as well tho...must get round to that myself
Get an engine brace - if you start doing too many hard standing starts, the engine\'s flex may eventually break your power frame and the alloy brace for the diff (It\'s happened on mine - the new power frame, uprated RE-A engine & diff mounts and fitting were a lot more expensive!). It\'ll also possibly sweeten your gearchange.... A AST\'s fairly important too. Both may save you a lot of money in the long term.
£200 will get you one of these

But I agree with Miguel, Engine and diff brace will protect that drivetrain
Hi Col,
Fuel filter if you not had it done already, Mine goes in to Tim\'s in the morning, i bet its still got the one that came with the car when new! i\'m having the two rear pillow bushes done at the same time, think i\'m getting lazy!
Cheers Bob
