Hi Guys,
I\'ve got a 1.5 way diff on the car (or at least that is what I\'m told my the seller) and I am wanting to change the fluid in it to see if it helps make it a bit more friendly :)
I have had a good look over it and suprise suprise it has no markings at all. :eek
Should I leave it alone and accept it\'s clonky nature or should I try and change the fluid ?
Thing is I\'ve no idea what fluid would be suitable for such a diff and I\'m guessing without knowing the manufacturer and therefore the exact type of diff, I wont get much further ???
Can anyone shed any light ??
Thanks :D

Any good GL-5 gear oil should do it :)
Something like Castrol Syntrax, easy to find.
Does that mean it\'s clonky nature is due to wear/lack of oil.... or is it supposed to do that???? Mine does too!
If its a 1.5 it will clonk.
Several guys are using Royal Purple with no problems.
The Drift car we sponsored was also using it.

I\'ve no idea, but i figured changing the oil would not make things worse.

First off, thank you to all for your much welcomed input :D
Gary,
I\'d be interested to recieve a price from you for enough lubricant to change both Gearbox and Diff oils if that is possible, please drop me an email at dave@fhwarden.co.uk
Many thanks for your trouble. :3gears-lh

For the diff I would use an sae 90.
Something like this:
