Hello Boys and Girls.
Basicly I\'m up for a new set of Tyres and i\'m not sure what make to go for?
I bought the car with Yoko\'s on but i was shocked at how fast they have gone, even though they where great!!
So i\'m looking for personal opinions who rates what sort of thing. I supose Value/Performance for money would be nice.
Cheers
Chris
Youve just said the Yokies were great. Basic rule of a tyre, more grip = more wear. so if you want the same level of grip, get the same tyre. ( are they A059\'s by the way?)
Just know that if you want a tyre that lasts longer, you are sacrificing the amount of grip you have.
Correct, The Yoko\'s where Great but they are too expencive on an every day car.
I am looking for some that are maybe not as good grip but last a bit longer. The tyres i have/had where about as soft compound as you can buy so as soon as i saw them on the car i though they wouldn\'t last long.
I\'ve got eagle F1\'s on at the moment, and have been very impressed so far and still a good amount of tread left (will have to check on that after burnout practise the other night :3gears-lh ). Although its the only performance tyre I have tried so far so not really a rounded opinion...10x better than jap rubber it came with thats for sure :)
Grixzlly can I ask agian what model are they please?
Oh and if there is any tread left on them, I may be interested in them !! Do you have stock wheels ( or at least rim size?)
Falken FK451s are excellent
I have used the FK451 and can vouch for them. Been through 2 sets and enjoyed every minute.
on my FC I have had Pirelli P6000 (long lasting, reasonable for daily use - not great on the hard driving front)
Avon ZZ3 (very good, on grip and not bad for wear - cheaper than most mainstream makes)
Yokohama Jap Spec can\'t remember which (grippy as hell, went from 4.5mm of tread when I bought the wheels to just legal in 2000 miles!)
If its an everyday car bare in mind that winter is upon us so a tyre that has good wet ratings would be a good idea. :burnout
Bridgestone Potenza\'s are a good all round tyre from my experience, good in the wet.

They say Yoko AVS on the side if thats the model? (there 17"), there isn\'t much tread left on them thats why i\'m looking for replacments.

ive got a pair of 235/45/17 eagle F1s for sale almost brand new
and
a pair of 215/50/17 goodyear nxts almost brand new for sale if you are interested
cost me £420 so make me a sensible offer on them if you like. they still have the spikey bits on ;)
i like the eagle F1s seemed a nice tyre, i used to run dunlop sp9000s
robedwards99 Bridgestone Potenza\'s are a good all round tyre from my experience, good in the wet.
Agreed with this. I have the Potenza SO3 and seem a good all rounder.
Rich :D
These are the only 3 tyres I have experience with:
Eagle F1\'s are good and relitivly cheap (255/17/40 are £100). There alot better than the tyres that came on the car when it was imported (RE01\'s).
Eagles havn\'t got the same grip in the dry as the Dunlop D0J1\'s but are alot better in the wet. Also the Dunlops will wear alot quicker although a worn D0J1 will still give you more grip in the dry than a brand new Eagle F1 but there also twice as much.
